Post A How to install Mod(s)

I have seen alot of posts says how to and asking how to. But they seem to be moved alot. Now im sure that a LOT of people here know how to but there is still a handfull that dont. That is why I am here! Im going to teach you how to install mod(s) into this game. Its easy, its fun, and fast!

    What you need befor installing:

You will need Winrar. http://www.rarlab.com/download.htm (copy that into a new window and hit enter, it will pop up a list of downloads pick the frist one on the top of the list its called "WinRAR 3.60". Or click on it)

    Where and what gos huh?

So you got your first mod downloaded and you want to play it, well frist we need to make a new folder. Go to My computer/C:/My documents/My games/Titan quest (or My computer/C:/My documents/Titan quest) Then once that folder is open make a new folder in there named "custommaps" (with out the quotes).

    Now to the move!

Open the mod with winrar (dubble click on the zip or ace,rar etc..) And it will open a new window. Now high light the files in the that window (the rar window) and then move them to the custommap folder, and there we go.
Now there sould be a folder for each "mod" (IE: I downloaded a mod named "advance" Well in the rar window there will be a folder named Advance thats the one you copy over (some times moders will place a "custommap" folder in the rar. Just open that folder and then move the folder thats in that one)

    Is that all!?

Yes thats all you need to do. Easy as making a cup of coffee. (some times) Now just open the game click "play custom map" then pick your mod and play! Have fun, do things, maybe learn to make your own. For games like this and others that can be modded and that want to be. Are always fun. Seeing what other people make in the free time the time and what not to do things for you is some thing cool.

I'd recommend rather IZArc for managing archives, as WinRAR is only a trial version (and IZArc is better too imho, handling more formats ).

And thread stickied now. However komodo, that was maybe too many bumps in so few times don't you think? (deleting the two bump posts).

<nods> Alright your right heh. But your right IZArc works well. But winrar is a trial but um, to a point. I still use the one I got 2 years ago. Thers just a pop up that you need to close and your good to go

Thanks for the link Gorkk - freeware plus 7zip support thrown in is what sold me. I have way too many archive-type programs.

I know most ppl don't support Custom maps that allow for items to be picked up ala "shopping", but to me it's another way to complete the set you've been wanting to.

Anyhow, I'll ask the question: After equipping my character with the item from the custom map, how do I save/resume my character to the main game while retaining the items?

    Thanks in advance.

You cant - unless you get another mod that changes that for you - or gets around the game code.

    That's custommap. Not Customquest.
