I've been playing vanilla TQ on normal as a Corsair cooperatively with my pure Hunter friend (who uses bow), and it seems his damage output has become so insanely high now that I have become utterly useless in combat, and my presence in-game alongside him has lost all meaning. This has broken the game experience for me, obviously. His damage is so high that groups of mobs just instantly go ragdoll and die beneath a single spread shot of arrows and he never really even has to retreat. I spend my time kinda moseying around smacking a mob here or there behind the front line before he puts the front line down then puts down the mob I'm whacking. It's incredibly depressing and while I've enjoying TQ immensely up and until this point it has drained the fun factor out of the game for me completely. I never even use any of my skills short of batter as it's always too late.
We are level 30 now and just got to the snowy pass past the Silk Road into Asia.
My gear is all blue/green.
I've been following this build I found in the forums here, although I went defense first so my rogue masteries are a bit behind.
I would love any kind of constructive advice any of you could give me. I don't expect to ever be able to compete with him damage-wise, but there must be some way to balance our roles, or give my presence meaning, whether than involves tweaking game settings or what-not.
I'm even down with just completely changing my class to something with range and/or AOE abilities.
Also, we started using the difficulty mod that ups the mob count to as if there were x5 players. He still just tears through them all.
Thanks in advance,
