Thread: Loot Tables

    Loot Tables

There's a lot of us farmers out here really interrested in knowing what certain mobs of level xx-xx can drop on what difficulty and especially what Typhon on Legendary is able to drop and what chances item xx compared to item xx has to drop from him. Because atm it seems like some items have an extremely high chance to drop from Typhon on Legendary compared to other items. IE. Pendant of Immortal Rage has dropped 7 times now, and only 1 Alexander helm in not that many runs. That doesn't seem that random, but more likely by a certain chance of each item.

Will you release loot tables or some kind of information on how exactly loot works ?

Well, in a way they have released the loot tables. They are just extremely complex.

Specifically for Typhon, his loot table accesses another loot table, which access another loot table which access yet another loot table before it finally picks items.

You can view the loot tables and such via the Art Manager.

Well, I've spent considerable amount of time looking through some of the loot tables today.

And... In short I think they're bugged.

I loaded in all of the Normal LootTables, searching through them. I was looking for specific Unique Swords, and I couldn't find them. I couldn't find any reference to the Fell Blade (considered a lv 12 Sword).

I could only find three Normal Swords of Epic Quality were referenced in the all of the loot tables I viewed.

Life Bane, Soul Carver, and Bone Saw were the three I -could- find.

However, I know that the Yang, a Normal Sword of Epic Qual, does drop, so I'm really confused on how the loot tables actually work.

<Scratches cheek> So, yah its really confusing how the loot tables work. It would be nice if once you load in an item, it will list every loottable that is referencing that item. So you don't have to go through like 5 loot tables to track down how often and where an item drops.

EDIT: I want to say that, the item you can get is based on Target level +/- 6 add Player Level, then divide by 2. And thats really the only 'chance' involved on what item you can get. Which means, a lv 40 capable of taking down Legendary Typhon will get radically diff stuff compared to a lv 65 taking down Legendary Typhon.

So, ideally, you want to be the same level as your target (or close to it), and your targets level should be the same as the level of the item you want. Unfortunately there isn't an 'easy' way to tell item level in-game. (Its cake ot load up the item level in the Art Manager, but, that doesn't do the avg user any good)

EDIT2: What alll of this means, is once you're at the level cap. If you want "low" level Lgendary items (the 40-45) you just might have to kill NORMAL Typhon instead... Whereas if oyu want the highest level Legendary items you need the Legendary Typhon of course.

This is the only thing I can find that makes any sense unfortunately... Otherwise, as I said above, the loot tables would have to be bugged since only a select few Epic items are actually referenced in the loot tables.

Now that I've actually started to look at the loottables, instead of acknowledging their existance. I agree with you wholeheartedly.

Definitely. Or at least a nice little explanation on how loot and loot tables work. After that maybe someone with programming skills could make a nifty tool (like there were for D2) to show what items a boss can drop, which chances, what enemy is most likely to drop a certain item, and so on... No hope for that without a proper explanation on how the game picks loot, though.

Open the Art Manager, click new mod, click import record. Go to loot tables and import one. Then look at it in the database tab of the art manager. Or make it easier:

    1. Download an unpacked database. There are some links on the forum. Try the search.
    2. Make a new mod.
    3. Put the unpacked database in the database folder of the mod.
    4. Look at lots of loot tables or other stuff without having to import each one seperately.
