Thread: Boat Dialog?

    Boat Dialog?

I have looked all over the Forums and all over the TQ Wiki, I can't find a tutorial for the boat dialog. I have given up my other map (The Ancient Tomb) I have decided to create a new one and have a massive town with boat people surrounding the circumference. Each one leads you to level 1 - 5 level 5 - 10 ETC places, and at the end you craft a key from all of the boat places and open a gate where you have to defeat Ares (God of War I think.).

I know little about making maps, but in Lilith that function is being added through quests.

So this should work if you run it "On Game Level Load".

Thanks Violos, but I don't understand it. . . Who created Lilith anyway?

A french guy called Mostal, but I do not think you need him.

Are you familiar with the Quest editor?
If not maybe fire it up and have a look at a few quests, it is pretty straightforward.

The point here is that "add boat dialog" is an action in a quest, which gives any existing NPC the option to send you to certain target coordinates on the map.

So one way to do it is to create a .qst with a single step (trigger) saying:

Condition: Run on game level load
Action(s): Give dialogues to captain NPCs

Now I do not know if the quest is just "there" and runs as soon as the game knows it exists (because there is an asset for it in your mod), or whether it has to be activated somehow through the map. But there are tutorials for maps and quests.

Yes, I have used Quest Editor before. Thanks for the tutorial!
