Need some help with my lvl 48 paladin.

Irma, what shield and sword are you using exactly??

I presume you mean for the Int version of my Pally? Here's the toon, currently at level 51 in Act II Epic:





Her other items are:
Helm: Stately socketed with Odysseus
Torso: Breastplate of Xanthus for +1 to Storm as well as good +% boost to Lightning
Cuffs: SBC with Herakles for extra Str
Boots: Runeweave Leggings for +% Total Damage as well as some resistances and DA
Jewelry: all +% Int with some extra OA as well, sockets are 2X Hecate's for energy and 1X Monkey King's
Artifact: Shadow Veil's +18% Attack Speed is the best I've found so far, will probably upgrade to Effigy of Skyfire later

Bear in mind that the toon is untwinked so these items aren't by any means the best, just the best that I've found so far. I'm not sure what I'll be using end game, although I'm confident that I'll still have a Sabertooth, just one with better bonuses.

That's a damn good sword. I forget about the essences that add to strength for armor. I picked this class because I want to try to get every class with defense through the game. This one especially seems really tricky. Now that I got an insight from you, I feel a bit more confident and kind of have an idea of what to shoot for.

Yeah, I would rather have had a Sabertooth with +% Lightning as suffix instead of +% Damage. But I was farming in Normal and didn't think it would be worthwhile to stay there for an extended period. I'm just shy of Act III Epic now and that sword is almost a full difficulty level old so is becoming a tad underpowered. I will spend a bit more time farming the Tigermen for (hopefully) a Sabertooth with two Lightning affixes. And then I'll probably spend even longer farming there in Legendary for my end game sword.

Found a few items to start off my paladin, I am having a bit of trouble finding a weapon. In a few more levels, I should be using some really good items with +%str and int items. That should help quite a bit with it finding a decent weapon to use with a shield.
