TQ:IT Multiplayer

Okay so im having server troubles, but only with IT, the original TQ works just fine which leads me to believe its not my router.
Every time I go into a game either I cannot connect or I can connect for about 2 min then it kicks me out, every.. single.. time..
I really wanna play multiplayer and play with people but I can't because of this .
I didn't use steam to download, i actually bought the game, so theres no trouble shooting that. I run as administrator and that finally allows me to view the games but i cant connect.

Are you trying to connect with people who have the fanpatch installed and you don't? Or the other way around? Every player must either have the patch installed or not.
