Love hunter/rogue class, Ready for sage (although other hunter based builds welcome)

I have recently reinstalled TQ and I recall the Bringand class well. My bread and butter was bow spamming into a cloud of baddies and watching nightshade/mandrake do their thing. I love status effects, and the shrapnel effect of the arrows were fun. I am currently ready to try something new but Im in no hurry to leave the hunter tree just yet. I was thinking sage with Storm Nimbus tree maxed out to give a slow near me, a cold or lightning proc, and some extra damage with chained lightning. I am behind a firewall so no Titan calc please. I would want to get good armor if I could but I will not be tanking so... thats a secondary. Where are the pitfalls with this build? Open with frost shards then nuke with bow? Skills considered most important to me are:

    Hunter:

    Wood Lore
    Marksmanship (Full Tree)
    Study Prey (with Flush out)
Art of the hunt (with Find Cover)

Considering for Spare points: Herbal Rem, Monster Decoy, Volly.

    Storm:

    Storm Nimbus (Full Tree)
    Squall (Full Tree)

What else should I consider? What should I expect from this build? I worry about energy. Stats are Dex/Intel/Energy? Thanks!

Volley needs to be a main skill, not one for spare points. At least a point in the Wisp and max out his Eye of the Storm synergy. Storm Surge can also be quite helpful if you get surrounded.

Attributes would be better as something like 2 points to Dex on even numbered levels and 1:1 Str/Int on the odd ones. Get energy and energy regen by other means, through gear and jewellery, although a good suggestion that Poinas made in his Pwning with Spirit guide was to put the bonus attribute points you get from quests into health. You could alter that to put them into energy or split 1:1 between health/energy. The quests are: Chiron's Bow side quest (Greece), the Eye of Chaos and Hand of Balance main quest (Egypt) and the Emperor's Clay Soliders side quest (China). Over 3 difficulties you get 18 points extra to spend.

Other good hunting classes are a Ranger (Hunting/Nature) with wolves and the Nymph to help you puncture foes and Plague to weaken them for wolves to shread, a Slayer (Hunting/Warfare) or a Warden (Hunting/Defense). Slayer and Warden would be easier to play because you don't need to split your attribute points so much as they would only need str/dex and no intel. Also have a look at Irma2's Bown Charmer guide in the Hunting section (page 2 when last I saw it). Another good class for Hunting lovers.
