How to get out of the Evil's Room?

I have searched the forum but haven't found anything (so nobody else seems to have been stuck here, probably not even myself in my earlier playthroughs...)

I'm playing Lilith again after three years and seem to have forgotten many things: When I am in the Evil's Room of the Monastery of the Damned there is a pentagram on the floor; at every corner a monster appears and I kill it. But when I afterwards try to exit the room it says: 'This door seems to be locked by a complex mechanism.'
There is nothing left to do in this room. Running around the pentagram does nothing. The door remains locked.
Can anyone tell me what I have to do to get out of this room so that I can complete the Monastery quest?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I have tried this Lilithpedia site; but I can't find anything else there but maps. Is there a way to get detailed descriptions on how to do something. The map doesn't help me. I assume that I have to kill the five monsters; I have done that, but still the door does not open. Have I done something wrong? That is the answer I am looking for.

In the meantime I have arrived in Epic's Evil's Room, and here it worked like it should: After the killing of the five monsters the door opened. So, in Epic at least, everything is fine.
As I got no answer to my question I have to assume that it was simply a bug that prevented the door from opening in Normal(although I tried several times, and the outcome was every time the same).
