whats your normal fighting style in rpgs, also you should use search function or go through some of the threads to get ideas before you ask this sort of question and decide on a particular class then ask for advise on that class

My normal playstyle is melee or paladin. Is there a build for that.

there is many many different melee builds though i guess closest youd get to a paladin is the templar (dream+defense) which is an extremely survivable build you cant really go wrong with it
for most damage im pretty sure spear brigand is the answer?
anything with warfare as a rule is an excellent melee character with onslaught.
beginners usually go conquerer (warfare+defense) or harspurx (warfare+dream)

Warfare and Dream combines to Harbinger, Haruspex is Dream and Hunting.
A melee class with good survivability that does not necessarily utilize a shield also is Spellbreaker, since he can leech/convert more health even from resistant monsters due to Necrosis.

There is a Paladin class in TQ, it consists of Defense and Storm masteries. Good survivability via Defense with spellwork via Squall, Thunderball and Lightning Bolt. Storm Nimbus tree will add elemental damage, Wisp for a nearly unkillable pet and Storm Surge to proc when you get hit, catching nearby foes in its blast. If you'd prefer to use Warfare, then you'd have a Thane.

Conqueror is also excellent, especially using a weapon/shield combo. The first toon I got to end of Legendary and one of my favourites. Templar is another possibility as well.

Wisp, like all pets, is susceptible to Act IV. While the Wisp is almost unkillable to direct melee or archer attacks, its key weakness is AoE attacks. The Hydradons' flame breath, the Empusae Wildfire and leeching nova, the Nighstalkers' faux DR/TR, the tree-trunk stomp attack, Mellinoe Tumult attacks, the Gray Sisters' red cloud and several other attacks will all decimate the poor little fella.

Even in Epic, it is susceptible to death in Act IV. It's only really tough enough in Legendary to withstand AoE.

Take a look at the sticky threads in this forum. Specifically, the Almost Full Builds Compendium.
