I found a item that states 37% increased experience.
What does that mean?

What it says, basically. All experience points you are rewarded are increased by 37%. So if you would normally get 100 xp for killing a monster, you then get 137 instead.

Good for being able to level up a bit quicker if that's what you want to do. There's headgear for both casters and melee which give this ability: Ceremonial is one name to look out for for casters, Mentor's is dropped by Gorgons for melee, but there are a lot of other names as well so keep an eye out for them if you want to collect them.
