Thread: 1.17 not showing in game?

    1.17 not showing in game?

I just ran the 1.17a installer and it's not showing the right version in game. It shows the 1.3 version. When I run the installer again, it says I have the updated 1.17a version.

I have the Steam version of the game. Originally I ran the installer from my downloads folder and it seemed to install fine and I got the "Finish" screen. After I clicked finish I got eh message that something may not have installed right.

I read through some of the threads here and I guess for Steam it needs to be ran inside the Steam folder. SO I did that and everything seemed to run fine, but I still got that same message from windows.

If I want to uninstall and reinstall, what location should I use for the uninstaller? Should I just copy and paste the steam folder location?

    Thanks for any help.

In what folder is Steam installed? If it's in c:/program files it could be a problem with permissions.
There may be no 'I' in team, but there's a 'ME' if you look hard enough.

Yea it's under c:/program. I'm the admin on the OS and it's the only account. When it installed it asked for permission and I gave it.

Sounds to me like you're using TQ, not IT. The fanpatch only works with IT and not just vanilla TQ.

Ahhh, I have both installed on Steam, but I'm playing through TQ atm. They are separate games right or is IT both but extended?

IT is the expansion to TQ.

IT just expands on TQ. It's the same game with more content.

Yea I loaded up IT and it does show the 1.17.

So IT has the exact same campaign as QT with the additional campaign? I wonder why Steam has them separate or maybe when I bought them, I bought them both.

Well that kind of sucks sense I'm into Act 2. Maybe I'll just run through Act 1 or something.

Edit: NVM, it has me where I stopped in TQ.

Yes, IT will usually put you back where you should be once a toon is imported. It does seem strange to have them separate, but then again if you buy a Gold edition on disc, which is what I have, it's exactly the same. You can play TQ or you can play TQIT.

As far as I know you need the original Titan Quest installed to install and play Immortal Throne. I also believe you need to run TQ once before playing IT. It says this in the manual which you can view in Steam by highlighting Immortal Throne in your library in "detail view" and clicking "Manual" under "Links" on the right side in the right pane.
