Congrats Medea, that's a very sweet Staff of the Magi for normal difficulty ! I checked the drop chances on the magi items, and the hoods and charms are both only half as likely to drop as the staves. That doesn't square with what I have vaulted, but chance will throw you a few curveballs from time to time .

Well, guess I'm going to be waiting a while for a Hood and Charm then as this is only my second normal Magi staff to drop. Funnily enough the other normal one I have is also a Sanguine, just without the of Fire suffix, but it's a level 3, rather than the of Fire's level 8 requirement.

My favourite green "sets" for early game are:
Outriders (shield Cuirass etc.) - centaurs
Trappers (spear and armour) - centaurs or satyrs drop these
Magi (hood, staff and charm) - satyr mages
Deathweavers (cuirass, helmet, bracers and legtip) - arachanos
Stonebinders (helm, cuirass and cuffs) - gorgons
Guardians (similar to stonebinders) - gorgons
    68 Ranger, 51 Templar, 46 Avenger, 33 Prophet, 36 Ritualist, 48 Assassin, 34 Diviner, 29 Haruspex, 16 DreamKiller, 16 Warden, 8 Magician

Don't think I've seen any Guardians during my play, don't remember them anyway, but my brain's a bit of a sieve and things fall out of it a lot. Did finally manage to get some Stonebinder's Cuffs on all 3 difficulties, but I had to farm for them because they never drop normally for me.

Also did get a couple of Hoods of the Magi and at last a Charm of the Magi of Brawn. Not the best for a mage, but better than nothing. Now I just have to create another toon so I can use them as all my other casters are beyond their effectiveness. Oh well, what's another toon or two ... or three ... or four!

The Guardians chest armor has a nice look to it, but it is clearly intended for female characters hehe. Iirc, the Sentinel armors don't look quite as good, but tend to be more useful. I think I've got a couple hunting and/or rogue chars in Epic running around with 1 or more pieces of the latter armor type. Both types are great for hybrid characters who push int for elemental damage. The str req is generally low 100's, with the dex req quite a bit higher.

Yes, I've got 3 Sentinel armbands and at least 1 Sentinel's Cuirass in the Vault, but I don't think I ever seen Guardian's as a prefix. Even when I was farming the MinoLab for Stonebinder's and had Defiler's no yellow drops turned on, did one appear. It must be even rarer than Stonebinder's, at least for me.

Medea, it's not a prefix. It's a type of MI. Iirc, trash gorgons can drop either the Sentinel's or the Guardian's MI armor, but it takes a hero (including the 3 sisters) or a green or red caster gorgon to drop Stonebinder's stuff. All of it is great for high dex, lowish str characters .

Are you sure, Zaptue? It's not listed as an MI in TQCollector, only Stonebinder's and Sentinel's. Is it not a prefix like Hyena's or Dune Raider's, etc, that's only specific to Gorgons?
