    Underlord + Death Effects Mod

    Hey Everyone,

    I've been playing TQ:IT for about a year now with my brother while we wait for D3 and GD. We really enjoy using the Underlord mod but we miss not having neat death effects. Is there anyway we could get these two mods to work together?

    I've tried using ModMerge but I'm not computer savvy to say the best. Could anyone provide some assistance? I used the .exe to install Underlord. If it is not possible that's okay, I'd just like to know. Thanks again everyone!

    I had the death effects mod incorporated in the betas for Underlord, but had to remove it because it was causing issues with some monster's class definitions. I don't know if it was out-of-date templates on those monsters or what, but I never had time to reincorporate it. The death effects mod works by adding death effects to every single monster record in the game. It was a tremendous amount of work by the original modder, and there are some complication when trying to automate it's inclusion in Underlord in a sensible way. Add to that the way the game loads death effects is irregular as well, meaning the first time you enter an area with a new monster type and kill a few of them, they will die with no death effects, but once the death effect loads, it will play every time.

    There's also the issue of performance. I remember there were a few of the effects that had very high particle counts and would cause performance issues when triggered in droves.

    All in all, it's an extremely cool mod, but I never found the time to both include it without error and find a way to make it work well. While I gave death effects to the monsters I created, going back and adding them to all the other monsters in the game was problematic, and in the end I cut it from the mod.
