Question (+ % Elemental DMG) attribute on weapons question

    Hi

I play as Oracle and I have squall maxed in Storm tree.

I have 2 staffs - one with a better base damage and one with less dmg but a +9% lightning damage.

Does the +9% lightning damage apply to my skills as well (Squall and storm nimbus), or does it just apply to thebase staff damage?

    Thanks for any help!

Piercing will only apply if it's flat.

If you have a staff that says +10% piercing damage, your staff will not gain a damage bonus. Your skills that deal piercing damage WILL do more damage though.

If you have a staff that says 10 piercing damage, your staff will deal 10 bonus damage as piercing. Your skills will do no bonus damage though.

And no, the skill tab is not dynamic, the numbers are static, though they WILL be increased. You just need to do the math yourself.

Defiler's "show all damage" function is the only way I know of checking such things. But its a great measuring tool for comparing items due to the static nature of tooltips.

    Except it's not entirely accurate.

Except I never said it was.

It will, however, serve the purpose OP is seeking, and show him a change in damage by swapping items.

    Once again, this is superior.

This is the best possible tool for min/maxing, show all damage doesn't take into account ALOT of factors.
