    The physical damage of Eruption

Eruption deals fire damage and physical (non-elemental) damage. Does strength increase the physical (non-elemental) damage dealt by eruption?
    Thank you.

    No. But +% damage does.

Yeah, +% damage sources will increase the eruption damage dealt, so playing battlemage (fire+warfare) lets you charge up your onslaught and then deal more damage with your fire spells.

Thanks for the quick responses. It is great that this forum is still active all these years. It looks like Dream +Earth will then work best for a melee toon that casts eruption under his feet during big battles--dream gives the best passive +%damage.

I dunno, defense gives 50% from colossus form and 50% from the top most synergy of adrenaline rush, defensive reaction.

Warfare, like I said above, charged onslaught will give you 50% increase with 1 hit, full charge of onslaught should give double of that (100%) because of how onslaught works.

Nature adds up to 68% with strength of the pack's buff, and if you have 3 wolves, it should be up about 90% of the time. That, combined with a huge debuff from plague (max level = 39 debuff to elemental and physical resists) should result in a monstrous damage output from eruption.

Spirit adds up to 50% damage with Unearthly Power, synergy to Dark Covenant, on top of a 34% elemental damage boost, as well as having a monstrous debuff on liche king.

Dream only applies a passive 28%, great if you're lazy, yeah. But not the best bonus. :P

Listing all these numbers makes me want to try a physical damage focused eruption-eer... with defense I can see it being extremely viable.

What you say about the damage modifiers is correct. Dream does have a debuff of 32% with ToW. The thing about Dream when considering increasing Eruption's damage is that one doesn't have to rely on casting some other skill first, or some skill processing only a certain percentage of the time when certain conditions are met. And I want a melee character, so I really only considered Warfare, Defense, Dream. Make your Defense guy, and we can compare notes later.

I think gear would be more important than skills. Lucid Dream only adds around +38% Damage at max level iirc. A Veteran's or Relentless (+20%) of Havoc (+40%) weapon socketed with Incarnation of Achilles (+25%) could give you around +85% Damage on its own. Add Pendant of Immortal Rage for another +50%, Armor of Achilles for around +40%, Adroit Loops +22% each. Ancile adds +28%, Eye of Ra +15% to Physical and +60% to Fire, and so on. That, far more than inherent differences in the masteries, is what will determine your Eruption's physical output.
