{2012-10-28} Update for the distinguished collector
Version 1.60 completed all main features of D2 Immortal. 1.62 fixed a few bugs.
The 1.64 Update also brings some minor changes, but mostly makes the mod more polished and atmospheric, adding yet another set of bonus items and a dozen of parchments for you to find.

{2012-09-17} Version 1.62 Update
After 1.60 basically completed the mod, this update fixes some reamining bugs that were found in the six weeks since its release, and adds some bonus bits and pieces in both the main mod and its Lilith merging code.

It took a while to upload everything and write up the news, but now the completed D2I is also on ModDB - and just rated among the top 100, out of 17.000.
{2012-07-29} The Paladin seals the deal
The last big update to D2 Immortal comes with a huge list of improvements, and finally completes what had been planned out over 2 years ago.
Aside from minor additions and adjustments that may follow, it is safe to say that D2I is now officially done.

Lilith has teamed up with Diablo and his brothers, as you will learn when following the improved questline and dialogues of D2 Lilith 1.45.
Luckily, our heroes also received some new gear and abilities, like more famous items from D2 which can also be found in the accompanying release of D2 Immortal 1.45.
{2012-05-19} The Three reunited
Diablo returns - not only to the shelves, but also in the 1.44 update to Diablo 2 Immortal, which this time is all about the original, and all about boss battles. Every difficulty now has its own master, and more epic quests await in Hell mode.

At long last, D2I has been combined with Lilith, which creates a total conversion by adding the exact parts (new world, new music) that D2I had not touched yet.
With it comes version 1.40, bringing new challenges and a complete sound overhaul to fans of the original, along with the ability to add -to any version of Lilith- not only masteries but all the changes featured in D2L simply by ModMerging it.

This latest patch fixes some of the quirks that inevitably surface in the first week after a big update, though not without adding some new stuff or honoring the diligent beta testers who helped to keep their number relatively low.
{2012-02-16} Update: v1.30
The Assassin joins the party! Coming with a unique int-melee mastery and an arsenal of tricks and traps, she brings some exciting possibilities and 15 new classes.
Also, some items were added/adjusted to support her playstyle, about 300 TQIT items got their +skills reworked for D2I, and many other small additions.

{2011-12-16} Update: v1.22
Ironing out the last kinks in the currently "complete" content, this update officially concludes the beta phase for the edition with four classes.
Notable changes include some difficulty tweaks, further improvements to enemy AI, and more rare equipment on monsters.
{2011-11-14} Update: Beta 1.12
In the two weeks after the release, your reports and suggestions have not only been very enjoyable but also helped me identify the most apparent bugs and balance issues. In turn, here is the best version yet, with everything fixed and balanced, new content that was being wished for, the third language, and some bonus stuff on top.
Though still called Beta, and limited to six masteries for now, I am confident that this will not require any major changes any time soon. So getting it is worth the while.

{2011-10-31} Beta 1.00 released!
The first beta is finally OUT! Coming in English and spanish for now, with German following soon.
That's about two years of development in 30 MB... I hope you have as much fun playing as I had making it. Looking forward to your experience - and bug reports.

The beta is done and checked, I'm only waiting for some files to add the Spanish and maybe even German texts. Meanwhile, I used the delay to add some bonus content, like more sounds, and this little cutie. You can look forward to meeting her tomorrow.

{2011-10-20} Publicity and Kung-Fu
Now that Youtube backed down from forcing people into registered Google accounts to access their stuff, I uploaded all vids to my channel there. Also, as you can see, the mod has its own forum (thanks fathersquid) with a separate news thread, while the WIP thread will soon become the development history.
In further news, a lucky find in the nick of time greatly improved the viability of staves as a main weapon, paving the way for monk-style hybrids.
{2011-10-18} Almost there!
After working on this every day for the last three weeks, there are very few of the "little things" left to do. Even though polishing could go on forever, the planned content is more than complete. And with the Spanish translation basically finished and a German one well underway (thanks to Chronikuz and Spartan116), D2I Beta1 is almost ready for release.

There has been another surge of progress lately (detailed here), literally filling in the blanks in the ingame text to fulfil some requests for a translatable file. If you would also like to make a localization other than English, German or Spanish, just send a PM.
{2011-07-15} Final stretch, take two
Getting back after another sabattical, we are once again at a point where the (now four) classes are basically done and it comes down to working off a final list of crucial things to implement.
However there are also quite a few not-so-crucial things, like better items or sounds, which would still be nice to have. The plan is to skip those for now, though I will gladly include any helpful contributions. If there is something you want to see badly enough to lend a hand in making it NOW, let me know.
{2011-04-13} Extended cast does not cast
It's been a month of zealous work since the resumption. A fundamental problem showed up and had to be solved, most monsters now have their new resists, names and skills, staves are now melee weapons, and I learned to use proxies and, with MadArkael's kind assistance, used that to create a "new" dungeon with a big boss at the end.
Also, the plans for the beta have changed. With the Barbarian coming in ahead of schedule, it will now include FOUR classes, or the entire left side of the new selection menu.

{2011-03-12} Back on track
After a few months off, I recently picked up work on this mod again, and things are looking good. With the first three classes basically finished and the to-do list of other core things growing shorter, the playtesting stage is in sight.

Hey there Violos, nice to see the YouTube has finally backed away for us non-Gmail users to access vids and info.. I'll certainly be posting some progress vids of my toons 
This mod is coming along nicely.. Just a question though: Does it alter game files or is it a Custom Quest? I haven't played Diablo II in forever.. I remember the barbarian bashing through graveyards of undead, and me having a ball.. I was like 7 xD
Anyway, hope this is released soon, I really look forward to trying it out!

Just asking. 
And Dark, I've alwas said it and it still holds: This will remain a soft mod. You can keep your original game, and not need several installs or something. Details will be in the beta's thread.
