Now I am pretty sure that guy used the ShopMI. There's something that makes it clear which is the name of his items. When you transfer them to your main quest characters the" Ferocious", "Veteran's" and such names are gone from the items. It just keep its basic name.

Also his character looks UGLY AS SIN, and if D2 has taught me anything it's this: looking cool is ALL that matters.

there is also another possibility. equipping homados because it is a good vest is a reason, but before the patch it maxed out attack speed, even though it showed as a 10% bonus only.
