    best newbie build - TQ+IT

hi all, i was wondering which build would be the best for a newbie? less gear req the better.

I'm a diablo 2 vet so for me I really just enjoy killing things... fast. So whichever class can get me through the more boring segments quickly I'd appreciate it. I also like ones which have good AoE, but of course, are able to be boss killers too.

I lean toward being more of a ranged/spellcaster character too, but if a melee char is best I'll go with it.

    Thanks.

for ranged the bow brigand is probably best for AoE, with it's poison tree and scattershot and puncture shot arrows the poison is easily spread over large mobs. it also has great boss killing skills such as study prey and take down. either that or the traps.

    not gear dependent?

Haruspex is a very good beginner class. Can get very good DA and around 100% avoid ranged projectiles self found even making it close to invulnerable.

Can be played as mage, melee with spear or ranged with bow depending on your stat allocation. Mage needs some -requirements stuff though.

A Conqueror us also a good beginner class. High hit points, armor, VQ and some good defence abilities for survival and good offensive potential.

Archers aren't very gear dependent, no. It's probably a good first toon to play. Almost all of them are able to kill quickly and do lots of AoE damage.

    Conqueror or Spear Haruspex.

Bow Haruspex. Sit back and watch things die.

Earth-something would be good. early on Volcanic Orb is quite good for mass killing and Earth can later be built into a wide variety of effective classes.

I can recommend the druid as good beginner caster. Lot's of HP and probably among the best at reducing enemy resistences via Plague and Squall and he can heal as well.
Only weakness with Ice Shards: Energy hungry. But that's a problem only if you don't like using your E hotkey.
