Is it possible to have the default IT files and have the underlord in the custom maps area?
Reason: I have the Mastries mod and don't want to install and uninstall the underlord every time I want to use the Mastries mod.

You could use asylum's batch files (since you have to exit the game entirely before you load a new mod anyway). But, if you really want to have it in custommaps, it's not 100% doable. You could have a partial install of it by putting the manual patch in the custommaps folder along with other mods. Create a folder called underlord then copy the contents into that folder, then change the database.arz filename to underlord.arz.
There are a number of fields in some records that don't work with the custom map system. So, you'll have most of the mod, but you won't have the difficulty changes, or the default damage effects, or the level corrections, etc.. In general, you'll level a little slower, and the game will be way too easy, I'll just tell you right now. You also won't have the randomization fix or the slow-casting fix, but you can add those yourself, or enable them with the latest version of the defiler.
Also, you'll have to load each new character into each difficulty once before playing the game, otherwise you'll lose everything when you load that character into a new difficulty setting. Optionally, if you don't care about the map changes, you could delete the levels.arc file and copy the maps.arc file from the masteries install to do the bounceback method.
So, it's doable, but you've been warned.
If I were to switch back and forth frequently, I would just duplicate the entire TQIT folder and use a bat script to switch the name of the folder.
