    idea for a new mastery

    first and formost if this has been suggested before i am sorry ( i did search horses).
    What about a new mastery where you could ride horses?
    ive got a few basic ideas for skills and names:

    single mastery: equestrian

    +warfare: companion
    +defence: cataphract
    +nature: naturalist
    +hunter: nomad
    +storm: sky warrior
    +earth: hill warrior
    +spirit: tyrant
    +rogue: outlaw
    +dream: immortal

    I happy with most of these names except storm and earth, suggestions needed.

    This mastery would be mostly for buffs+benifets and maybe a few offensive skills/retaliation.

    Summon horse:
    do i need to explain this? at high levels the horse would have more hp, cost more energy to summon and maybe this should cost money.

    life of a horsemen:
    this would be a buff with a few synergys that will be very helpful. The base skill will reserve 75 energy, increase movement speed and will give a small increase to attack speed.

    Strike down:
    "being up higher allows gravity to deal nasty and deadly wounds"
    this would be the first synergy of life of a horse men, and would help the companion and cataphract deal more damage. it increase physical and piercing damage.

    Parthian tactics:
    2nd synergy of life of a horse man. this skill is best for the nomad, as it adds flat and % pierce damage. reserve energy + 10

    Black steed:
    3rd synergy of life of a horse men, this skill increases elemental damage, vitality damage and life leach. reserve energy +20

    Caverly charge:
    this skill will greatly increase the physical damage of skill such as warwind (not sure how that will work on horseback), shield charge and take down.

    horse call:
    Your horse will rear up and deliver a bone chilling niegh, scaring enemies and inspiring allies to fight better. your horse will do this buff automatically. This skill adds a good amount of physical damage, and it will lower enemies amour absorbtion. at high lvls the recharge is lowered, and the skill is more effective.

    Summon Companions:
    this skill will summon companions, powerful cavalry that will serve as pets. At higher lvls more can be summoned with better armour, damage and speed.

    Summon Nomads:
    This skill will summon nomads, fast cavalry archers that will serve as pets. At higher lvls more can be summoned with better armour, pierce damage and speed.

    these are the skill of thought up, more are coming.
    The horse it self will be a pet, but it will allways be under you. when you get hit the exact same damage you recieve after resistance mods will be done to the horse. depending on your hp and the horse's lvl, the horse may die and you may still live.

    Any way this is all just a thought, ive never made a mod and this is extremely difficult/impossible. feel free to try it, ive got more ideas for skills which ill post later.

    So what do you think?

    in act 1 at helos there is a horse which runs around and rears up when attacked, not sure if that may help in making a mod like ith

    Unfortunately, riding can't be done. At least not mounting and unmounting a horse while playing, because there is only one player model.

    You can easily make a horse summon, but then it would be running beside you.

    I think it should be like the Othersider in the Spirit mastery where he only stays up for a limited time.

    Maybe you could use the Centaur model for the player with some alterations?

    Or summon a boot-type item that looks like a hobby horse and changes the footstep sounds to that of two coconut shells banged together. You know, cavalry Monty Python style...

    You could edit the mesh of a torso armor (attached to the spine) to look like a horse in the lower half, with a "blanket" to cover the legs... then imbue that with a skill which enlarges the player slightly.

    Would still look silly when turning. And most of all, it doesn't move its legs. Something like "sitting on a floating cloud" might be easier.
