Can the common man be a hero? lets see about that.

this is the ultimate challenge. do not try this if you are a noob. quit if after playing you experience one of the following:
    frustration
the urge to throw a baby out of a window on a 20 story building
    steam released via eardrums
and/or dry mouth or constipation, as these could be a sign of a rare, but serious side effect (JK).
    THE RULES

    NO Masteries AT ALL
    ONLY grey and white items.
NO artifacts, relic(monster charms are ok),or jewelry.
    Staves are Banned Completely
    No deaths
No mods ( including, but not limited to, defiler of any sort, xmax, and mods that change leveling up)
why? the common man cannot flick a stick and shoot fire, nor can his wedding ring allow him to reflect damage. and how would a common man get the star of ishtar? shouldnt that be in the sky?. A common man doesnt have a special fountain that can revive him.
I have entered this challenge. NPC level 2 helos. I will put a leader board when people join.

Tale of an Oracle, Darth Twins, and Start of Walmart(aka darkness) make up the Wal-Mart Trilogy written by me and my brother. Its basicly if you had the Wal-Mart Pharmacy as the main villains in Titan Quest. I write ToaO, SatyrBane writes SoW, and we co-author Darth Twins. I also run the Return of the Hardcore Xmax thread. I will try to update it as best as i can.

Erm... Have fun, but I don't think you'll get very far. White/Grey armor gives no resists...so you'd be stuck with - resists throughout epic and legendary unless you farm for monster charms, even then you won't reach a decent level of resists.

Don't let that stop you though!

This sounds challenging but also quite difficult. The fact that you "can't" use masteries also is a little bit exagerated. Since if a common man or woman leaves on an epic quest to save the world and he/she battles a lot he/she should aquire some skills. He/she would learn how to attack an enemy in a way that the monster gets more damage through a deeper wound etc. Perhaps it is better to allow skills which can be placed within this line: melee/range skills of for instance Hunting/Rogue/Warfare/Defense etc. No skills with magical and/or "divine" skills of course.

I think the average person isn't a marksman so no markmanship nor can he shoot 3 arrows at once. I also think that the average person can't use a horn and summon dead people. Anyway this is SUPPOSED to be hard

I get that, but I mean skills like: Blade Honing (there exist blades that stay sharp nowadays), Anatomy (after Act 1 or 2 normal), Wood lore, Study Prey etc.

Skills that are realistic and do not require any extra material like additional arrows, knives, poison, flashbombs, lures and so on. Even with those skills your idea would be hard.

This brings back memories. See this post for some helpful information, and then this post for a follow-up. PLEASE DO NOT REPLY to those posts, as they are from 2006, and Necro-posting is bad, mmkay.

If you play your cards right, grab every potion that drops, and don't do something stupid, it should be possible to almost get to the Great Wall. If you are able to get past the Yarren, highly unlikely, I do not foresee you getting past the Gargoyle boss at the end of the Great Wall.

If you have the patience, and don't mind the kiting, this is actually a very fun challenge to play. I just recently reinstalled TQ and plan on giving this another try once I get my bearings again. I may post a new challenge when I get going, I'll call it the Spartan.

    Good luck!
