Thread: What book are you reading at the moment?

  1. #21
Well, since I live in Germany, HBO won't be an option...

Ah, rats. Oh well, Foz, the books are usually better than the movies made from them, anyway. Let us know what you think of the Ice and Fire books, willya? Hope you enjoy 'em.

Haven't had much time to read lately, but I'm at about 600 pages of the first "Song of Ice & Fire" books ("A Game of Thrones") and up until now, it has been a darn good read. I really like the multiple perspective narration structure, makes for a lot of little "cliffhangers" that keep you hooked constantly. Nice complex plot and I like the grown-up feel of this kind of Low Fantasy thus far. Hope the ending and the sequels don't let me down, there. Wheel of Time for instance started really intriguing and after a couple of volumes grew duller by the page...

I've read all three books and they really are great . The story and the , as you said Fozzie , narrative type is something really good in this book .

Stuck on "Pendragon: The Lost City of Faar" because one of my dogs chewed it up. Unfortunatly, I have a habbit of starting a book and not starting a new one til I'm done with the other.

There was some book that I found in my mom's collecting a while back that I read. It's called "The Boxes" by Anthony... Uh, crud, don't remember. It was interesting

Of course you don't start a new book when not yet finished with another, unless you gave up on the first one entirely

As to the HBO-series: I already mentioned it a few posts prior - no HBO here. The edition of the book I purchased (all four volumes released to date in a box) already advertises the show on the box sleeve, I think that's why it was such a bargain.
Well, I think to check the show out eventually, I have three options:
Wait for a DVD release, wait for some German network to broadcast a crappy dubbed version, or watch it online in crappy quality and hope I catch them before they get deleted.
    Meh.
