Anything that boosts traps in one way or the other, so hunting auras and study prey or the wolves strength of the pack skill in nature. ToC or ToE in dream or Dark Covenant in spirit, hell even earth echantment works on traps. Be creative yourself and use the search function either on this site or google, lots of info is there. The strongest is still probably the assasin as far as traps go.

It also depends on which mod you use, the Underlord mod for instance puts traps in the hunting mastery and changes traps to pets, meaning you can use pet gear to boost your traps. For normal TQ there's is also a mod to change traps to pets. Unmodded TQ does not treat traps as pets, so pet gear does not boost its damage, but Battle Standard will, hence trap assasin is a strong build (better damage boost than hunting auras). If you change traps to pets by use of a mod, you can for instance use +physical damage to pets rings and boost that damage with strenght of the pack skill , which does +% damage.

That's all the info I can give you......in a nutshell.

Traps, unlike pets like the wolves and to an extent the Lich, have always seemed like supplementary damagers to me. They were never meant to be main damagers, although the Assassin and his Battle Standard + Traps combo and the Brigand and his massive piercing damage buffs/debuffs (Art of the Hunt, Study Prey, items) + Traps combo are two very unique cases.

Basically Rogue mastery can (just barely) get away without having Traps while Spirit and Nature would just plain suck without their pets, so you need very specific synergies to turn Traps into killing machines. From what I've seen only Brigand and Assassin can accomplish this.

Of course, suggestions have been made to make all pets equal in some way. If that happens, Traps will work well for anyone.
