    started epic difficulty, lost skills

I'm relatively new to paths, only been playing it a month or two but I've read a good amount of this forum and didn't see this mentioned anywhere. I finally defeated Hades and started epic difficulty. When my character came up, all her abilites were gone and hitting S brought up the paths selection screen. And after choosing a path, I had only 6 skill points to allocate. So now what? I have used TQVault to move a few items in and out of my inventory, did this cause the problem? Now what?

If you entered the game on Epic without re-selecting the Paths mod, it would reset your skills like that. You can fix your character with TQ Defiler, if you do not have a backup (available at http://tq.soulseekkor.com). Just set your skill total to what it should be and you will be ~mostly~ good to go; you might have problems if you go back to normal difficulty to complete quests etc.

You should have (Level - 1) * 4 + Q skill points, where Q is the number garnered from quests.

Here is my cheat-sheet of what quests give what character-rewards:

--a4 plains of judgement "The Dust of a Titan"
    +2 skill points

--a4 palace of hades "Hades' Generals"
    +5% total damage

    MQ1 +1sp (spartan's at war)
    MQ2 +2sp (telkine)
    MQ2 +2ap (eye)
If you did all the optional quests, your Q would be 7. There is a skill-tagged bonus from the "Stygian Lurker" quest line that might also have been wiped - I don't know how you could fix that but it is probably possible.

Thanks, looks like that's what happened. Fortunately it's a relatively easy fix and just a matter of remembering what I put my skill points into.

Hi! Same thing happened to me, alas ... even though I'm pretty sure I DID select paths ... anyway, I can fix ~most~ of the damage with Defiler, but - how do I get the extra res from the Oracle and the +total damage from Hades Generals? Thanks a lot for any hints!

Second try ... all new character ... again, when reaching epic, all skills were gone ... also all skill points gone ... also new skill level max at 32 (as in vanilla) ... did anyone try the paths mod in epic at all? (Coming from normal, that is?) Doesn't seem to work ... (yes, of course I started the game with paths mod enabled ^^) --- pity, this is my favourite mod ...

    @Gorn

When you start a mod by selecting it in "Play custom quest" you have to triple load your new character.

Meaning, every time you create a new character you have to load each difficulty level and activate the first portal, save before quitting.

That way you create a save file for each level in your "My Games/TQIT/SaveData/User" directory and you will not lose your skills and atributes points when you'll end Normal and start Epic.

A word of advice: Never, never load a toon in a another mod or you'll lose all your points. Best thing is to identify your toons for each mod (P_ for Path, LM_ for Lilith Masteries and so forth)

I hope that info will solve your problem...

also, if you beat the game and it bumps you back to the menus to start epic, be sure to load the mod again.
