    [REL] Random Number Generator MOD.

    There was a pretty good discussion on the seeds and random number generator here. After some investigation it was obvious (to me) that there is an issue with the PRNG implementation where it would overflow and that it was not a true Park-Miller implementation.

    I have modified a set of game dlls which correct the issue with the PRNG. I have the retail release and fanpatch 1.17a installed. Anyone willing to try these will need to backup their game.dll and engine.dll and copy in the modified files.

    Version 2 is compatible with TQDefiler mods.

    Also anyone who tries these files, please post any results in this thread.

    Nice work if you indeed fixed this! I'll be keeping an eye out for test results to this thread, if all is good it could be added to the next fanpatch and/or with your permission implemented in the Defiler as well.

    Yeah, wow. I hope this gets confirmed; I'd like to bundle this with Underlord as well.

    Granted this is only 1 play test but...

    WOW. I never rolled a number like this before. Played about 2.5 hours of Lilith and while there was still a TON of junk and plenty of yellows, there were, from time to time a green or two, some blues and arcane formulae that dropped. They were well spread out and mostly all different drops. It feel like I never had a session where it was not all bad or too good to be true (in terms of the RNG) and this first play test was absolutely what I would have expected from a balanced drop rate.

    Plus, I was in the temple and finally found the frog with the ends-key (a big problem in Lilith is sometimes, this bugger who can spawn in multiple locations, never appears). Lots more testing to do...

    I'm with jiaco, I only tested once(don't have the time to run through farming spots 200 times over atm with finals...) but it LOOKS like the randomization is much better. I picked up a few items I hadn't seen before and lots of variety in gear. (rather than picking up 100 dazzling gigantes plates...)
