Templar was one of 3 I managed to get to end of Legendary on my old PC before it crashed; both Paladin and Warden were still floating aroung in Normal iirc. Templar using a similar stun strategy combined with Trance of Empathy might be possible and fun, but I haven't tried it out. Shield Charge/Phantom Strike to get you into the mobs, Distort Reality tree to blast them and then mop up what's left.

Hmmm I'm kinda debating against the Templar route for two reasons at the moment:
    1. I have done it before and should really try something fresh.
    2. I have a Warrior character at the moment whom I'm planning to take down the Dream path.

I think I might get bored of two Melee-Dream characters, so Stun-Paladin is on my mind at the moment. It's just a shame Defence doesn't have war-horn.. that would be perfect. I could use an Alala(or however you spell the Daemon helm MI) but farming for a decent one of them three times would kill me. Still, thunderball, storm surge, and concussive blow should work out nicely... and with a Crest of Taurus he will be mad with the stunning.

Heh, the drop gods are in spanking good form at the moment. Playing my elemental bow Avenger last night, level 45 and at the Gorgon Queens in Epic. So, naturally, I settle in for an extended bout of SBC farming. With Teucer's Warbow, a good dual affix Fire bow, Vet's/Juggie's torso armours and Hallowed helms as possible further bonuses.

Anyway, none of the above drop after a whole level of farming so I decide to call it a night as I level up. But then I spend a couple of points in Flush Out and decide to do one more run, just to see how the increased elemental resistance reduction affects my killing speed against nine Gorgons. And, bingo, the Cuffs drop. +Energy which isn't too bad for an energy-hungry toon like Avenger. Next to the Cuffs is a green Gorgon Helm. Hallowed. Yay.

Then I start again this morning and decide that, even if I already have the SBC, I'll do another full level of runs just to try and get some other goodies, along with maybe a second pair of Cuffs. Nada over the whole level. Some interesting items like a Murderous of Flame bow and a Hale of Servitude ring which might help Cory a bit. But other than that, the only really good item was Athena's Battle Greaves from the Gorgons' Chest. Not much use to me as this is an Int toon and I don't have the required Str but still, it's always nice to find Athena's.

I level up again and decide enough of the Gorgon Queens, let me push on. So I clear out the Pythian Caves and the very last mob drops... another pair of SBC. +16% Pierce resistance this time, so not bad again. I was quite satisfied leaving the Caves. Although perhaps a bit surprised that, after two whole levels of farming, Teucer's Warbow hadn't dropped. I had found Amazonian and Queen Zenobia's spears but, as an archer, those are of no use to me.

So I sell off my loot to the trader just after the Caves and set about tackling the Maenads, Centaurs and Boars in the area beyond. The very first chest I come across, out pops... Teucer's Warbow. It's bizarre. It's like every time I give up on something and decide to press on, I then get it immediately. It's not like Teucer's is uber for this toon, she's Int-based so she wants a Fire bow with Prometheus or Shen-Nong's. But Teucer's is so OP for this part of the game that it'll serve me for a while until I can shop a good dual-affix Fire bow.

Goldarnit, don't do that to me. I hate it when I'm clearing out a dungeon and suddenly come face to face with an over-sized green-hued skellie with a star above its head. Fortunately it was only Rot Bone, as it invariably is. But still, it's not good for a bloke's blood pressure, hehe.

Ahah! I always think the other way actually. Generally speaking I nearly always die to Toxeus in his initial rush because I just think it's Rot Bone and don't bother planning out a stategy(who would for rot bone?). You would think I would have learnt by now... but no.

If I didn't play with my own music I would probably have an easier time by hearing his buffs activate.

"Just one more run" produces again! This is ridiculous. I reached MinoLab about half-way to the next level and decided to level up farming for more SBC before tackling MinoLord and Megalesios. I got another two pairs, one with +Energy and the other with +% Poison resistance, in that half-level of farming. On the very last run, I leveled up after killing the first group of Gorgons and briefly debated whether I should complete the four mobs of Gorgons or just turn around and head towards MinoLord. I mean, I now have four pairs of Cuffs, surely I didn't need to farm three mobs of Gorgons for more?

Still, I decided to complete the four rooms and got a flash of purple when I popped the chest guarded by the Automatoi just before the last two rooms. I thought it would be Bone Bracers or Doxa Kalo or some other spectacularly mundane early Epic purple. But when I came back and checked the drop...

Again, not useful at all for this toon. And yeah, Thorny can drop in Act I Epic. But how often does it? Every time this toon says "Last run and then I'll move on", the heavens open and I'm showered with gifts.

Have you heard of the term confirmation bias Irma?
It seems to me you can only stop farming an area after a good find, not the other way around.

It does make for a good read, keep it up
There may be no 'I' in team, but there's a 'ME' if you look hard enough.

Ahh...back in the ol' saddle again. It's been seven-and-a-half weeks without my fix of TQIT due to recent back surgery, but tonight I was finally able to sit down and play for awhile. Yeah, I missed it, even though I was only playing an Act I Normal toon. Found a couple of meaningless early blue Uniques by the time I parked my lvl 18 Defender's caboose on Medusa's doorstep for the night, but it was immensely enjoyable. Feels great to be back in the game again.

Glad to see you back again defboy99 and hope you're fully recovered from the surgery. Now you can get on with the serious stuff.
