    - hobbits (not necessarily from the Shire)
    Why not? I can imagine myself ramming a club into Frodo Baggin's head

    No respectable RPG contains hobbits! I mean, LotR is pretty much the greatest book every written in my opinion - but seriously... common...

    Actually, LotR was the first RPG I ever played, iirc. And I liked it quite a lot Retro gfx ftw!

    Never read the books though and I didn't really understand the English language back than...

    Ok, if its a LotR based RPG, that's possibly one exception to the rule

    That's like a challenge to come up with other games, right? So, I raise you with Age of Wonders! Although that's really more a turn-based strategy with RPG aspects...

    Anyway, to keep on-topic I'll cough up a list of random monsters;
    Vampires!
    Red Riding Hood Gothic Priestess
    Multi-headed dragons!
    Goblin wolfriders
    Beholders!
    Orcs!
    Zombies

    How about Ch'thonians and Aetherials instead?

    Everyone knows Aetherials don't have limbs.. Don't worry though, Ch'thonians, Possessed, and Reanimated do.

    The first time I read that I thought it said Christians. Although that might be another way to add more depth to the game. I know its a controversial subject for many people, but weren't the Druids and other pagans being persecuted around that time frame? Just got done reading the Mists of Avalon, which is why that popped into my head, I guess.
