Actually, LotR was the first RPG I ever played, iirc. And I liked it quite a lotRetro gfx ftw!
Never read the books thoughand I didn't really understand the English language back than...
Ok, if its a LotR based RPG, that's possibly one exception to the rule

That's like a challenge to come up with other games, right? So, I raise you with Age of Wonders! Although that's really more a turn-based strategy with RPG aspects...
Anyway, to keep on-topic I'll cough up a list of random monsters;
Vampires!
Red Riding Hood Gothic Priestess
Multi-headed dragons!
Goblin wolfriders
Beholders!
Orcs!
Zombies
How about Ch'thonians and Aetherials instead?

The what? Names sound cool though. As long as we can mutilate and delimb them![]()
The first time I read that I thought it said Christians. Although that might be another way to add more depth to the game. I know its a controversial subject for many people, but weren't the Druids and other pagans being persecuted around that time frame? Just got done reading the Mists of Avalon, which is why that popped into my head, I guess.
