On a related note, though slightly off topic, who was it that originally decided that, in ALL these games, you can only wear TWO rings? Do all the champions in these games only have two fingers? I'd love to see a game that let you equip at least 8, one for each finger (The thumb actually does not count as a phalange. It's known as a Pollux), or maybe even 10 if you count the thumbs. But seriously. Tired of the "oh, if two magic items are so close they cancel each other out" type cop out most people use. If you can wear a pair of magic gauntlets and carry a magic sword... that story falls apart. With everyone worrying about inventory size and shapes and balancing all that, I'm sure someone has to be on a similar mindset as me in this area. Bigger items should have more ability to hold magic, while smaller ones have a lesser capacity, but you should be able to have more of them to balance it out.

If you allow players to equip that many rings you would have to make them really weak. I'd rather have my character wear 2, maybe 4 really good rings than 8-10 mediocre ones.

Imagine how painful it would be for a knight to swing a sword while having rings on all fingers. Or how ridiculous he would look. It might work on magic users though. Fighters could get 2 and mages 4...

Hellgate London (not the most successful example) didn't even have rings/amulets. They just added more armor slots. I don't really miss them.

    Slightly more on topic...

What d3 is doing now... it makes inventory management "easy" but also tedious. Inventory management looks like shifting though sand with all those tiny items. People might soon complain that rings and gems waste space.

I would rather like a d&d weight system... which would allow you to gather all the jewelry, gems and scrolls you want. Scrolling inventory limited only by weight. Strength, endurance, vitality, or even all attributes could contribute to this pool. Plus you could have magical bags that bypass the weight requirement. But maybe that is for the more role centered d&d games, not for a fast paced killfest.

In the end I guess most people like it simple.

I'm a little bemused by all the "ZOMG gimme more storage space" posts. If anything, I think the current three-pack allowance is too much. Show me someone that can carry a dozen swords, a bunch of potions, armour and a shield and not look like an overpacked shopping trolley, really. Especially with the use of TQ: Vault, it's not necessary to carry everything you find. Dedicating a pack to charm/scroll/relics only makes much more sense, IMO.

+1 for "please drop less useless crap" though. Likewise for increased potions stacking.

Tashes, you're not allowed to post in this thread unless you play the game. Playing till sparta once doesn't count.

    You're fired.

    Ohay Munder.
We've been through this. Go ahead, punish me for being a casual gamer. Just cos I'm not obsessed with the game doesn't mean I can't have an opinion.

No, it doesn't mean you can't have and state your opinion. But it sure makes the value of your opinion drop. [but hey, welcome to my world]

    No you!

I'd just like to point out that when IT first came out Tashes made it to Hades before I did.

(This post is in no way endorsed by Tashes or written under threat of death)

Also I happen to agree with tashes. It is a bit unreasonable when considered from a real-world view.

I just checked her account, and she's flat-out of nerd cred.

It will take at least 3 days of hydra runs before she can come in here and suggest less inventory space...and for the sake of "realism"? You should be ashamed for even sticking up for her.

    Tashes is hereby benched indefinitely.

I don't think you realise that arguing with a moderator is a *Bamf* worthy offence.
