    Act V: Boreal Rampage

Hiya fellas. Wyvern and I have prepared a new story that we'll be writing here. This story takes the heroboy into Act 5, right after he kills Hades. We'll be alternating between the chapters. One chapter by me (heroboy's path) and one chapter by Wyvern (villain's path). The first chapter will be coming up in a day or two. Stay tuned.

I've compiled the complete story into a Microsoft Word document. Just click on the attachment below, unzip the folder and open the file in MSWord. Any links that you come across in the story are mostly the music to assist you in climatic parts of the story. Make sure you're connected to the internet, then hold Ctrl and click on the link and it should open.

Chapter 1 – Trouble in the North
    (Heroboy)

    Intro theme

The Godsbane Titan slayer headed through a mysterious portal that Persephone opened for him. She said that his destiny will take him to the right location. He was nervous as he didn’t know what journey awaited him now. But on the other hand, he didn’t really have any other life. Before his huge quest to defeat Typhon and then Hades he was nobody.

Brave hero found himself in an unknown village. It was definitely not his homeland, Greece. He looked around and saw groups of people standing anxiously and discussing something with each other, merchants running about with carts full of goods, while mystics just stood still and calm like they usually do.

He walked up to one of the people and asked where he was.
    - “You’re in the village of Skentir.” The middle-aged man replied to him.
The Heroboy then asked why everyone was so panicky, to which the man replied:
    - “The Northern part of the village is in trouble. We’ve heard that some goblins have attacked them since this morning and they are still there. They won’t leave.”

The hero thanked the man and then continued further. As he was passing by another man, the man began telling him about the place called Valhalla and how well-known heroes go there. After hearing that, the heroboy was sure Persephone’s portal took him somewhere far to the North.

He now headed towards the North section of the village. He passed by a few poorly built houses and groups of screaming people running in his direction. Finally he encountered the first two goblins. They were armed with clubs. The hero tightened the grip on his axe and charged towards the two goblins. Both goblins stopped chasing the civilians and turned to fight the hero. However heroboy laid them both down in two hits each.

That was just a very light appetiser of things to come. When the heroboy continued further, he came out into a wide open yard, surrounded by houses and at the very end leading to the North gate of Skentir. The yard was full of goblins and guards fighting each other.

Chivalrous hero instantly charged into the groups of goblins in order to drive them away from the village. There were loads there, so the hero concentrated some energy in his hands and then froze a couple of them in ice. Three more were still standing though and prepared to attack him. He blocked the strike from the first one and then produced a single death strike which killed that filthy goblin. The other two were swinging at him with their blades already, but mighty hero blocked both strikes and then killed them both. The two that he froze broke out of the ice at that stage. One of them reached the heroboy first and produced a strike that got heroboy in the torso armor. However that goblin didn’t live past the first two strikes. The second goblin who broke out of the ice was killed by one of the guards.

There were a couple of archer goblins not far from the heroboy. Both aimed at him, but he quickly charged towards them. Although one of the arrows got him in the shoulder, the heroboy ignored it and murdered both goblins before they could reload their bow.

With heroboy arriving, the guards did not feel so overwhelmed by goblins anymore and so managed to kill all the ones in the yard. Now those monsters at the gates saw that they were losing and so began to retreat.

Brave hero walked up to the captain of the guards and asked what was going on. The guard took a deep breath and then spoke:
    - “They attacked us this morning for no reason whatsoever. I personally think they’re after something. But what?”
The heroboy then reassured the captain of the guards that he will follow the goblins and will find that out, and so he headed for the gates.

Good to see that Heroboy actually got some intelligence, unlike in TQ where he is told what to do all the time.
    Nice one, keep 'em coming.

Thumbs up Act V: Boreal Rampage - Villain's Path

Allright folks! I'm glad that you are enjoying this story, because now it's the villain's time to shine!

Chapter 2: A Stronghold in the Gloom
    (Villain's Path)

    Dark Theme
It was a dark night. The war between the gods was still being waged, and in the middle of the divine storm, nobody noticed that someone - or something - was seising the opportunity. The grey, great stronghold stood among many dead pines, occult by the two mighty cliffs and the grim night. Two great giants, one made of fire and the other made of ice, guarded the gate. Many dragons flew around the main spire, where their lord plotted.

Inside the spire, one tiny, rushed bogeyling ran towards the main quarters. Towards his master. He held a scroll in his right hand. When he opened the door, the room was in a dark, quiet mood. In his front, a huge stone table had lots of opened, slashed, burnt scrolls, and a shining crystal ball layed on top of it. The throne, a chair that, thanks to the dwarven might, could be turned, was facing the huge balcony in the other side of the room. The wall made an archway with two great gargoyles with their huge mouths wide open. Around the floor was loads of junk.

-Sire, I have the reports by the Goblin Tribes! - he squealed.
    A huge, cavernous voice answered:
-Your lord is not here, I shall handle that scroll!
It was the voice of Scythe, a male, mature Bramble Wyvern, a species of dragon that has only wings and back claws. It was about the sise of a big dog, had pitch-black skin and dark-purple serpent scales that went from its neck, down through its chest and belly, and went along the tail. Its mighty bat wings had red skin between its long fingers. Its head was a classic feature: wide by the malars, narrow jaws and wide snout again. It had shining green eyes with no pupils whatsoever and two menacing, dark horns. Inside, its mouth was yellow. It was standing in the table too.

-Let me handle the scroll while he's not here.
The bogeyling delivered him the scroll and ran away, afraid of the wyvern. Scythe read the scroll, and it smiled quite sinisterly. Another voice came from nowhere:
    -HEY! Put that down, Scythe!
It came out of one of the gargoyle's mouth. It was Batter, a male, full-grown Tarasque. It resembled an iguana, but also an elephant. Two times the sise of Scythe, it was swamp-green and had hard scaly plates all over its torso and small tail, to protect it from blade cuts. It had six pairs of bear-like legs, although only four of them were visible. Its head was cone-shaped, and two elephant tusks came from its mouth. Covering its neck was a strange scale that resembled something between a gill and a crown.
Batter was not happy to see Scythe hande its lord's affairs. And Scythe was not happy to see Batter trying to handle its lord's affairs either. They were struggling between themselves to gain the title of Right-Hand Minion. And, as far as they knew, their lord couldn't have two right hands.

So, Batter and Scythe started arguing:
-What are you talking about, Batter? I said I'd handle this, so I'll handle this myself until our lord arrives! So quit whining!
-Hah, YOU handling that out? You are a Wyvern! You only have a pair of claws!
-And you have no wings - which means you can't FLY!
-And you have no tusks - which means you can't DIG!
-Boohoo, what a GRAND tragedy that is! It's better to feel the wind in your face for a second than to spend a day faced down in the mud!
At this point, they were too nervous to keep talking, thus their small intelect couldn't hande any more insults. Batter then charged at Scythe, which flew away right before it was hit by Batter. Then, it attacked the Tarasque and they started biting and scrathing themselves...

-You two, ENOUGH!! - one screamed.
The exhausted dragons quit fighting and turned in fear towards the throne. It rotated and showed a strange figure, filled with dark. Nothing could be seen, apart from two shining eyes.
    Scythe said:
-S-s-sire, you're here! We didn't noticed you were here.
    Batter said:
-We...we...we thought we were alone, and that you were gone! How could you...?
But it was interrupted by their sire, who spoke in a calm, smooth voice, yet still grim:
-I've been here all along, listening to your insults and watching my glory from this window.
Scythe was just about to start talking about the Goblin Tribes Report, but its lord spoke first:
-Youy don't need to tell me about the goblins, Scythe. I know that our army is enormous, and, knowing these proud, pathetic things men are, they are terrified to see nightmares murdering their kind, and are too busy screaming in panic to defend themselves.

Scythe and Batter looked at eachother for an instant, then their eyes turned towards their master.
    - Things start well... I was clever to seise the war between the gods to wage a war on men... For now......Midgard can be OURS to rule!

OMG, another person who plays Age Of Mythology! Awesome!

And yeah, that's Odin's Tower allright. Odin's castle on Earth. And the Atlanteans reverse it in time. How amusing that mission was.

How did you know that was OT? It could be the wonder for whoever plays as Odin worshippers!

And I like it how people are enjoying the story so far. Thanks for all your good opinions!
