Okey, i just found another post about it. thx for explaining again.

I have another thing about the patch.

The quest Hidden treasures quest is gone from the quest log along with the other bugged quest as it should be. But when i talk to Laches he gives me all the quests and rewards back besides the hidden treasure quest. Its still gone. i went to fayum too check out the quest giver, he gave me the quest like i never had done it. so.. i did the quest and got the reward as normal.
I talked to Laches again after i did the quest to see what happens and now he gave me exp for the quest i just did and in log it now says "rewarded: 9000exp x2"

I just wanted the quest to show up in the quest log as the others did.

This happend just in normal, in epic and legendary he gave me the quest back to my log at first talk

I should get that in the "additional patch info" thread--I should just get it all in that thread, so there's just one source that includes all detailed info about every fix. Of course, not that people won't continue to report the max-level pet "bug."

lol, that's a first. Are you 100% sure you'd already done the quest in Normal? It's that, if you've talked to the guy in Fayum, your character gets a quest token that says like "talkedToTreasureDude." But, when you complete that quest, there's no token to indicate you finished it (unlike the other fixed quests). So, in order to make sure I didn't screw over people who'd started the quest, but not finished it, Laches will give the reward, and close the quest, if he sees that it's at least been started. This means, since it's not closed when you start the game, you can use this trick to give yourself the exp twice, by bringing your char into the game, not talking to laches, instead going to do the fayum quest again first, then going to talk to Laches.

So, it's weird that he fixes your other quests, but the fayum quest until after you go and do it again.

If you are sure you did the quest in normal before, and were ignored by Laches first time around, is there any chance you backed up the character before patching? If you did, could you send me a copy? And if not, could you send me a copy of the char anyway for testing so I can see why he might have been so rude?

Well, I've noticed in normal as well that the quest doesn't appear in the log even though it was completed.... but I never tried going back and getting again or anything of that nature... I only noticed it was gone because I went back to Helos to visit the guy who gives you any missing quest rewards...

Ok, so this is the first I'm hearing about this. So, in Normal difficulty, Laches isn't fixing the fayum quest like he's supposed to? Wish someone had said something before so I could have fixed that for 1.17.

No, he fixes the quest like he is supposed to... at least this is what happened with me... I received the message about a missing reward, and was told to speak to him... I did and he restored the 9000 xp... what doesn't happen is that your quest log no longer shows this quest (see the screenshot)...
That's it... I've just never tried to go to Fayum and get the quest again - I can if you want...

I must have messed up the log restoration for the normal fayum quest fix. I'll fix it for 1.18.

I've never seen this until i loaded 1.17. Getting a few items that are "super" large.

Heh, you've never seen the crocman stuff before? That's not a bug--that stuff is just big.

I did some testing and it turns out that i have done the quest in all difficulty, BUT on normal i did not start the quest from the NPC i just went in to the room where the quest completed before i even knew there was a quest for it. So i did not get the "TalkToNpc" token thingy. that explains why Laches dont know that i did the quest.

A easy way to fix this is that you portal to fayum and take the quest before talking to Laches. then dont complete the quest by entering the room, just go to Laches and now he restore all the quest as he should be.
