    masteries and attribute points

    Just for discussion here:

What does everyone think about the way str/dex/int/hp/mp are attributed by leveling each mastery?

Currently, I have a Seer who needs to choose a second mastery just for energy and hp. Sadly, the difference between storm and earth is so large that I might just pick storm (but I hesitate as I am happy just using dream and with squall, i know that will have to change).

Anyway, it got me thinking, it would be cool if there were a fixed number of attribute points per level and you could choose where to put them or if each mastery was more balanced in terms of net gain per level.

Just curious what the "balancers" think about this.

Personally, I think each mastery should have a similar amount of net gain - each built should get as much attribute points as the other (isn't the case currently) - but I think they should remain auto-assigned. It's one of the things that distinguishes each build from eachother. If you choose two caster masteries, you'll end up with lots of mana and intelligence, little health, no strength. Seems good to me.

I think the amount of energy should equal the amount of health - even though energy's much more useless. This trade-off will make caster types weaker, which seems realistic to me.
And if that other plan comes through (with energy recharge possibilities being nerfed), energy isn't half-bad.

YerkYerk making each mastery give X total str/int/dex and y health/energy per mastery lvl sounds good. Would mean that end game your have 64X str/int/dex and 64Y health/energy.

So if you just take warrior masteries you end up with 64Y health and 64X str/dex. If just casters masteries you have 64Y health/energy and 64X int/dex.

Yup, that's pretty much what I suggested.
    And for Dream it's str/int

Nah it is bad idea. It should be diffrent for fun purpose, overally same amount of points but different distributed.
Overall it is fine i would only exchange Nature with Earth as Nature don't need so much energy while Earth yes.

    Mmmmmhhhh.... Never (ab)used refresh,huh?

But I agree that it's just fine the way it is now. To me, every masterie gains an individual "personality" by both skills and stat boost (know that sounds wierd...), and changing this would make me really unhappy
