    Is This A Unique Problem?

    Hi Everyone,

I just joined the forum today in the hope that I can get some help.

I have been playing TQ-IT for quite a while now and have thoroughly enjoyed it. When I saw that there was a mod for 9 new masteries I installed it. I have been playing with the new masteries for a time but, today noticed that ALL MY CHARACTERS whether they be new on the custom quest (mod) or my original Immortal Throne characters, they do not take any damage whatsoever. The monster bar does not go down one iota? Is this because I have added the mod?

They also appear to take little or no damage themselves! They can hack and slash to their hearts delight but no damage is taken and little received. I could not find a thread that addresses this issue. Is it unique.

Please, please, please will some kind soul come to my emotional rescue!!!

    Regards,

    Miss Poffle

You haven't, by any chance, have Defiler mods installed? There's one mod that makes everything invincible.

    Hello There yerkyerk,

Thanks for coming to my aid!

The answer to the question about do I have Defiler mods installed, could be yes.

I had downloaded the 9 new masteries (which I think were made by PinkFrog) and they went on okay. (Then, and this may be the bit where I pooped it up). I also thought I'd be clever and try to use the defiler to put back the skill points that I managed to nuke when I accidently opened my characters in the normal mode instead of the Custom Quest mode.

I didn't think I had been successful in installing the defiler stuff because, apparently I needed to download something called .Net 3.5 to get the TQVault_2.14 (which I understand I also need). Since I am a newbie in every sense of the word, I may have been trying to run before I could walk.

Since I was not able to do this, I thought that the defiler stuff would not be 'active'. I know all this sounds horribly complex but, if you could give any more advice, it would be welcome.

Hm.. well, it's probably not the Defiler, as that program only alters your .dll and other files if you give it permission, not by just installing it.

The problem is a bit weird though, haven't heard it before. Heh, a common (though boring) solution is to do a reinstall of the game..

    Hi yerkyerk,

Thanks for the reply. I guess I shall have to suck it up and re-install the game! Do I have to do anything with the defiler stuff that is on my PC?

I appreciate the help, always good to have a line of help. Many thanks.

Seems like such a shame and waste. Having to delete all your data. If it were me i'd be outraged! Mind you, if your willing to do so, it may be the only choice you have. If theres a better choice do that.

That sounds like bad luck, unlucky. It seems like all you can do is uninstall the game. Tough luck

Well, your characters data will be saved (you can back em up just in case, they're stored in your [my documents/my games/titan quest - immortal throne folder].

But they should be untouched, it's just a bit of an inconvience to reinstall the game, but otherwise it should be all fine and it shouldn't affect your characters.

Thank you all for your help and suggestions. It is fabulous to have such a supportive safety net.

Anyhoo, I did re-install TQ-IT and everything seems fine now. I backed everything up so my characters are safe. Now, if I can only remember to play my modded characters in the custom only game so as not to nuke my skills again. Sigh!

Invincibility is good in some respects (but not for the bad guys), and I wonder how on earth I managed to create this most singular problem!

Many thanks to one and all, my questing can now continue
