Thread: Making a Difficulty Mod

  1. #41
Where are act 4 boss pool files? I knew it before but can't find it now.

I only just looked for them today, as I needed them to adjust spawn rates and I had never used them. This is so spooky that you should post this now....weird.

    Anyway...records/xpack/quests/proxies/pools.

Very interesting tips here, tyvm! Since I saw no mention of it, does someone know exactly what monsterLevelGapFixer(in gameengine.dbr) does? I have tested in normal with the first value set to 1(instead of 0) and all the monsters seem to better scale to PC level, including bosses(for instance the cyclop was level 17 when I was 10), for a tougher, funnier game. Just wondering if the mod could potentially mess anything...

The Level Gap Fixer is for balancing the EP in the different difficulties. The highter you put the number, the highter a monster's virtual EP level will be and the more EP you get (calculated by the monter level and your level distance). Idk if it influences a normal monster's level, too, but I think so. I didn't work that much with it before.

Okay, thanks for the precisions Elfe.

P.S.: As an info, I can confirm that monsters level is higher when raising the number(i.e. the very first satyrs in Helos are level 2-3 instead of 1-2, with level 1 PC).
