Thread: Can't find full Haruspex guide, please help

  1. #51
Your build seems pretty good, you could use more points in call of the hunt, which will make your attack speed faster, and thus your dps. 679 dps is really low for a haruspex. You should try to find a nice green bow and socket it with valor of achilles with extra damage (25%) or extra attack speed (35%). Look for gear that increases your pierce damage. socket rings with monkes trickery to be more effective.

edit: every point in str/dex/int/ raises that ability by four.

I would highly recommend you to run the gorgon sisters for like a 100 times to find a better bow and stonebinder cuffs.

Umm...should i "run" Soronis, because those frogs there can drop Bramblewood bow (which is best for this class) ?
And, should i do this on Epic, before i continue on Legendary ?

    Thanks.

Epic Bramblewoods are good although you'll probably find Bow of Herakles or similar purples do just as good a job. When you get to Act IV Legendary, though, the Legendary Bramblewoods outstrip everything else.

Hydra takes a long time for archers, there's not much that can be done about it. Unless you load up on absolute resistance reduction and grab an ...of Harrowing bow, it's going to be a long fight. Hydra is best run with melee toons in my experience.

    Hi,

I'll try the immortal Haruspex build, the daughter of Chuck Norris kind of build, could be fun

I have a question about attribute points though... the original poster says to put half in strength and half in dext, does it mean for instance if we get two points to distribute at a level we should put one in strength one in dext? Or should we take into account we get more strength when we level up, because we get strength for both hunt and dream, but dext only for hunt, and so we should try to have the same number of strength than we have on dext?

So we should really put the same number in both? This means either we will have the same strength as dext, or more strength?

When a weapon says it deals 30% piercing, this means 70% physical (based on strength) and 30% piercing (based on dext)?

    Thanks

btw on another thread someone advised to put points as for a brigand, 1 in str for 3 in dex if ranged, 3 in str for 4 in dex if hoplite

Always favour Str, it does far more for your damage than Dex does. So 1:1 until you have 400-450 Dex, then pump Str as much as you like. Dex is really only needed for equipment and then also to give you a good base OA and DA. 450 is fine for both purposes, you will never need more Dex than that to equip an item. Plus it will give you good OA and DA. If you want to get >1k OA or 2k DA, you will need to get there with item bonuses. Trying to do it with Dex alone is an exercise in futility.

Thanks. When you say 450 DEX you mean based DEX? Not counting item bonuses?
And we can do the "invulnerable haruspex build" this way? ^^

Even with item bonuses. Unless you have about 200 Dex on one item, which you won't. Still, if you want to be safe, make that figure without gear. Then you can swap out gear as you like without ever fearing that you won't have enough to equip Legendary spears/bows.

The Immortal Haruspex build gets its DA from the masteries and items. Base Dex is never going to give you high DA. It does help to have higher Dex but more than 450 isn't necessary. With items and skills, you should easily reach 2k in Legendary.
