Interesting interview. I bet the guy played Titan Quest too, I can see a bunch of design choices taken from them, like the ditching of the single button build (which most builds in D2 ended up being), nerfing the invincibility pots (though Diablo 3's mechanism seems to be better) and a bunch of skill layouts. Heh, with Blizzard's balancing skills and this guy's lust for gore, I can't wait to see the game develop.

good interview. the more i read about this game, the more excited i get. its a shame that theyre removing runewords though.

also, i found this quote to be pretty funny, as it seemed to me to be poking fun at fallout 3 a bit.
I really wanted to work on Diablo because I didn't want someone to take it and turn it into something else. I didn't want to make it a first-person shooter or a third-person action game. I wanted it to be the isometric Diablo that I knew and loved.
maybe thats not how he meant it, but its the first thing that came to mind when i read it.

I'm going to enjoy seeing how this new "health orb" system will affect the game difficulty. Either Bosses drop those orbs after being dealt a certain amount of damage, they'll commonly have cannon fodder minions with them or their attacks will be very weak compared to D2

That quote reminded me of Hellcrap London, but I guess it applies to a lot of games.

HGL 's gameplay was a LOT better than the general dialog...still love the story "concept" just the exicution was off imo

I still plan on finishing the SP in due time
