    I'll drag this thread up to add that, rather than cap recharge at 80%, why not just nerf a couple of items essential in reaching 100?

    Talisman of the Jade Emperor comes to mind. Reaching 100 would then leave a toon incredibly vulnerable in so many departments, a very high level of skill would be required to play.

    I'm not against the 80% cap, but this might be much easier to implement in a patch without breaking other skills.

    But if you are going to cap anything, please cap CtAP :-)

    The problem with nerfing items would be that it'd be a whole different spectrum and we'd rebalance a whole array of items and affixes just by trying to get the -%recharge lower (and %ctap, %damage received, etc...). It's not that an item with -40% recharge on itself is overpowered, but 100% is, if you know what I mean (e.g one item with -80% recharge and any powerful non-recharge item is much less powerful than two items which give 100% recharge).

    Although, it might be the only solution available.

    It might be a case of starting by looking at which items are typically central to recharge builds. It may be fewer than you think. In my case, if you nerfed Tracker's Hood and Talisman of Jade Emperor my recharge toons are suddenly in a lot of trouble.

    The bigger issue might be getting people to submit to having their existing item nerfed on patch install.

    Another option would be increasing the lvl requirement of Jade Emperor particularly to, say 65. That way you still get the joy of mass spammage (and it is *fun*) - but you have to a lot of legitimate play to earn it.

    Level requirement is not something that works when balancing overpowered end-game stuff.

    The spammage can be fun, I agree, but there could be several ways to spam (e.g. -100% recharge scrolls and shrines, for example). This does not just concern -%recharge though, it concerns all the stuff that should be capped. And that list is a lot bigger. One of the issues I'd have with that is that the items themselves are usually not overpowered, but the combination of several items to reach a 100% cap is...

    Yes, the lvl requirement was just an idea - I can't see it working either.

    Does recharge really have to be grouped with all the other abilities when considering this cap? I agree that if you were going to edit items to balance all the other areas (-resist, CtAP what-have-you) then it would be too hard. But can't you just focus on the recharge on a few items?

    I like the idea of a recharge shrine! Could replace the totally useless health shrines in the game
