    I mostly played 1.10.

    Highest character was a lvl 89 Strafezon who could solo Diablo and do group Bhaalruns (on Hell). Cleglaw's Gloves (25% slow) and some anti-regeneration poison worked great.

    Also had a 70s level Barbarian. No fun to play after Nightmare, you need insane weapons to hurt anything. And you constantly needed to repair them, ugh.

    Had a Winddruid, found it funny but boring. Never really got into assassins. A Low-level (40s) Meteorb Sorceress was interesting but never really caught my attention.

    My 2 favourite characters were the Skellemancer and the Frostadin. The Skellemancer could either get insane skelletons with +skills gear or walk around in full Magic Find gear and do squat (aside form the occassional curse).

    The Frostadin is the coolest class in the game, any weapon becomes viable with it. I had a Frosty with some crushing blow boots and low-level weapon + life-draining rings. He could solo Bhaal and big groups of Cows at level 19 (to the chorus of "omfg hacker" ). Poinas "pwning with spirit" Diviner really brought back memories in that regard.

    MeteOrb for farming.

    My main char was always a wind druid, even though his dmg sucked pretty bad. I had over +20 to all skills and it wasn't enough :/. Ravenlore +3, ele amu +3, hoto+3, spirit shield +2, belt +1, armor +2, the rest of the pts were from skiller charms.
    Hammerdin with half of that equipment pwnd everything :/. Maybe in 1.13 sth will change for the better.

    I just got D2LOD myself, which class do you guys think is the most fun for a newbie that played TQIT a long time?

    depends on what you find fun. for me the two most fun were the zookeeper necro and the trap assassin.

    I'm not that fond of pets, but I like casters and melee characters. I dislike the keys though, the potions at 1, 2, 3, 4, the skills at F1, F2, F3 etc, the loot button Alt and the run button Ctrl. My fingers are getting stretched when I'm playing it on my laptop That's why I'd like to avoid relying on potions.

    the only keys i ever pressed were the run key and the highlight items on ground key. potions can be clicked on, and skills can be switched using the scroll wheel on your mouse.

    fun melee imo would be the zealadin, or frenzy barb.
    casters, either the trap assassin or the meteor/orb sorc.

    Oh, you can do all that? Epic, you just revolutionized my laptop. Now I can enjoy Diablo II

    Those all sound viable. How about fire druid?

    Fire druid is crap. I made one, but unless you have stellar gear, Hell is going to pose a huge problem.

    With all the synergies it seems nice theoretically, but it doesn't work out in the game.

    Played a fire sorceress pre 1.10. No loot... no fun.

    After a few years I played... ehm... a fire/cold sorceress. Got a little weak in hell tough so she visited a mystic (Hero Editor) to tweak the build a little... I hate synergies. She could then do Players 8...

    Tried to find the runes for Enigma rune word... all I could find was the Archon Plate. Got bored of Andariel runs. I might have worked had I know about the Countess' rune fetish, lol.

    Then played a Zeal/Fanaticism paladin till Act 1 Hell. Can't remember why I stopped.

    Now I'm finally playing a Javazon in multiplayer with a friend.

    Never tried battlenet... oh well, d3 ftw.

    You'll not find the runestones for Enigma in the game legitly, not even by running the countess for a bazillion times (she herself has a drop limit of ist or gul or something, while the runes she drops are a lot lower - and combining runes to get higher runes doesn't work). Not that you'd need Enigma on a sorc though
