Thread: Release: Map Decompiler

  1. #11

    Re: WIP: Map Decompiler

Look for a release later this evening after I have time to test thoroughly. It turns out that some of the junk I couldn't figure out is automatically generated by the compile process, so it's safe to simply skip.

Doh! I've downloaded it, what do I do now? How do I extract the TQ maps?

    Re: Release: Map Decompiler

    1. Make a "My Documents\My Games\Titan Quest - Immortal Throne\Working\CustomMaps\World01" folder
    2. Underneath the folder above, make a "source" and a "database" folder
    3. Copy the TQ:IT Database.arz file to the "database" folder
    4. Rename the file you just copied to "world01.arz"
    5. Extract MapDecomp.exe to the "source" folder
    6. Extract Levels.arc and put the world01.map file in the "source" folder
    7. Run "MapDecomp world01.map world01.wrl"
    8. Wait
    9. Wait some more
    10. Continue to wait
    11. When it's done, you'll have a shiny new .wrl file with a bunch of other stuff
    12. Open the World01/world01.wrl in Editor

I think that'll put everything in the right places for successful editing under the default settings. I do not know if steps 3 and 4 are required, but I haven't tried without it.

p0a: you're doing a fantastic job. First with the skirtless girl, now with this. Congrats and thanks

Did luedtke give you the svn user/password by the way? I can't wait to have you in the team.

Thanks much. I'll try that later. This might help in the making of my custom map. Clever stuff.

Has anybody tried to merge the decompiled main maps with any modded maps?
