    Re: HOW TO Make Skins

Hi, is there some way to alter the form of a creature just by the .tex file? Like add claws to the wolf or a tail for the humans?

What do you meen by "8 ) Start making tests. You will need to know how to work with GIMP or Photoshop pro to do it." and can you do it in photoshop?

In short... to the first part, maybe to claws as long as they are tiny... no to a tail (unless it was tiny and lay against the body) - to make something three dimensional, you will have to change the mesh...

To the second part - you really can only tell how things are going to work out if you keep checking your skin as you modify it... things overlap in the weirdest ways so it is hard to tell where your additions / modifications / embellishments will turn up on the final product. On a more positive side - I would think you can use Photoshop - I used Photoshop CS...

    Good luck.

Ok, is it hard to change the mesh? Can't you take the mesh from say...a maenad and turn it into a playable skin/character. That would open a world of mods. Just think to be able to play as a minotaur or a satyr

So i'll have to just go with the trial and error way on this one
Well yeah you can modify .psd in photoshop its just that i wanted some program or application that would simulate the character with the new skin (so i could skip the conversion and opening in game pocedure, huge timesaver).

I think the Maenad mod is already done That's not changing the mesh as much as it is replacing the mesh with another TQ mesh.

Not sure how the equipment looks on them; all equipment was tailored to fit on humans, but not every creature fits every equipment properly.

Search for MeshDrawcs, that might be the timesaver you're looking for.

Maenad PC mod -see here! Most equipment works fine on them, as they have the same body shape and curves (hmmm...) as the female mesh. For other creatures, we have some armors modelled for them (jackalmen, tigerman, neanderthals, satyrs) but most of the monsters only have their specific armors only (centaurs, arachnos, medusae).

What do you meen with "we have some armors modelled for them"? Did you use some program to resize the armor or do you just meen that it's already adjusted?

Yes, I mean 'we' (as in, the players) already have this in-game, as the creatures are using these armors when you encounter them.

I have done some 'resizing' myself for the lamiae - basically I edited the default lamia armor to have the other texture of the various leather/etc. armors for a PC mod. But, it's a lenghty process sadly.
