Question Question about Invisibility of Items

    Hello there!

At first: I’m new here and my english isn’t the best. I learned at school, but that’s more than 15 years ago.
Never mind – I just wanna say: please do not wonder about my grammar, I hope, I’m able to phrase all of that, what I wanna say.

2nd: I said it, I’m new, and also if have no idea about modding/making skins. But I want to learn and will read all the tutorials and FAQ at this Forum.

But before doing this, I have a Question:
Is there any (easy) way to set all equipment invisible? I can see at the ESPECTRO-Skin by OoALEJOoO, that this will work with the Char. But does it work with all the Armors and Weapons, too, without to have editing every Item in the game?

The Reason for this Question is, that there are so many awesome skins here, especially in this thread (but also in the others, too), and some of them are too good to be covered by some more leather and/or metal.

Inspired by the “Spiderwoman” by bluecry, I have the ambition to create more Superhero-Skins (for example, a She-Hulk wouldn’t be too difficult, I guess ), but this only makes sense, if the items are invisible, while wearing.
So Thanks in advance for every constructive answer.

P.S.: I’m (still) a layman, but nevertheless I have to say, that you all did a great job with all that released skins. Very impressive!

P.P.S.: I was not sure if my Question is about skin- or texture-modifying
    - I hope, I decided right to post it here.

    Hi there buddy!!

I haven't tinkered with the equipment skins but I am sure that making them invisible is possible (Check the "Post your character screens!!" thread near the end for an example).

As a rule, any skin that has an alpha layer can be made invisible. All you need to do is paint the alpha layer black. Hope that helps!

    Much thanks for the Answer!

    Yes, that helped.

Sure, not yet, cause I still can't mod anything - but it will be helpful one far day.
I guess, you meant this one here?
http://www.titanquest.net/forums/gam...ens#post171956 <--- The 3rd Pic, the Char "Gabriela"?

So this means, that I really have to edit every Item for itself... or I have to choose only one Set of Items for editing, which I (better: the Char) will wear the whole time.
Did I understood that right, so far?

But whatever, its still a long way for me, at the moment I still have problems with the using/activating of such mods (the *.tex-way, I wrote a *.bat, but it doesn't work - don't know why). But this is another "story", I'll better write this in the right Thread, if I found it.

One more time: Thanks for helping me. I'm sure, I'll have still a lot of more questions in the future.

Re: Question about Invisibility of Items

You have to edit every piece item you want to be transparent and that will apply to all your characters , male or female as well as the mob/monsters who happens to wear that item also.

Works the same as character (PC) skinning, once you've worked out the correct folders and batch files everything would be easy.

The harder part I think is getting correct *.tex filename for the item you want to edit as the arc folder files don't use the same common name we see in the game. i.e. Ferrus Gnosi (r_warriorhighgrk01), stonebinder's cuff (medusaarmbands01), Sapros the Corrupter (rclub05c). Some things for you to start.

    1. Extract the whole item.arc for IT and TQ.
    2. Using texviewer, look in uibitmaps folders that match the items you want to edit and the filename. Once you knew the filename move up a folder and look for the same filename that has the 2D *.tex. Then export to TGA and edit. Note the directories and filenames, most errors in batch files are wrong folders and filenames.
3.Finally, backup all arc files before you archive anything.

BTW, I only edit items for my endgame geared-up characters. It would be tedious if you edit all items as you level up.
