@Trent: Sure that you haven't been in legendary? Secret passage does only point to loottables from act 4 of that difficulty, only Hades can drop relics and formulas from act 1 next difficulty. You may have a look at the dbrs yourself, no chance to drop L1 formulas in E4 secret passage (if the game does use the database).

Hmm...I guess it was Hades then. I did so many Epic SP runs, then changed to Epic Hades recently, I might have been thinking that the formula dropped in SP. Edited above post.

Now as to your initial question, I have BEEN in Legendary (literally only to the first waypoint until last night when I temporarily gave up farming for Blood of Ares). But all of the actual farming was in Epic.

I guess since Epic Hades can drop L1 formulas, the better place to farm for Blood of Ares would be the SP.

not really, epic Hades has a 1.59% chance to drop a E4 formula (and a 0.33% chance to drop a L1 formula), having about 9.5 items in his orb in average, epic SP has a 1.36% chance to drop a E4 formula, having about 19 items in its chest.

So this gives 0.15 formula from hades per run and 0.26 from SP per run (assuming single player), so far your point.

But you can triple Hades by using x2 to xmax, increasing him to 0.45 formula per run.

Elemental Rage drops in legendary act 2 with about 10% chance, in act 3 and 4 with about 5% chance. I guess I forgot it, editing it in.

I decided yesterday to try to assemble Blood of Ares.
After going to normal and farming the Telkines for half a day (3 minor artifacts and their components) I finally got everything. Sure, half the time was spend trying to find the last piece of an Essence of Amun Ra's Glory... took 20-30 Telkine runs to get it (after I got bored of running through Egypt and inflating my kill count).

So there I was... 5 lesser to 2 greater to 1 divine.

And the completion bonus? 5-12 damage... not ever piercing damage... oh well c'est la vie... 25% attack speed would have been too sweet anyway.

Now to decide what to do with the other 20 recipes that dropped while farming...

I am pretty sure I found my Ikon of Zeus on epic act 4. Had to be because at the time I wasn't in Legendary yet. Now a friend I played with was the one to give it to me but he had never been to legendary at the time either. We had lvled the characters together until that point, untwinked as it was our first characters. So I assume the Zeus Ikon he handed me did in fact drop in act 4 Epic.

Also to those who just get Ikon of Zeus, yes it is good I nearly fainted when I saw the stats being it was my first character. I was a lightning oracle, and the effigy of skyfire added more total dmg then Ikon and its an ingredient. Also the Elemental rage is very good depending on what else you have on, also an ingredient. My advice looking back is to not make Ikon of zeus if you only have 1 effigy and 1 elemental rage.

To tell u the truth I realy hate farming. So I always use Itumus map to get me the thing then use TQ defiler to get my char back into normal game.
