    Re: Common abbreviations

I came here wondering what Xmax was, or is it not an abbreviation?

    Re: Common abbreviations

Xmax is a mod that multiplies the amount of monsters and bosses.

I think the 'z' in OMGZ is a cute way to make it polytheistically plural - 'oh, my gods!'

Or at least that's what it sounds like to a gamer. I see the poster above says he/she has seen it in valley girl textspeak, so maybe not.

    Re: Common abbreviations

OMGZ comes from the same place as the kitteh's, Rick rolls, and other internet humor. Forgot the name of the forum/website, but it is a specific site. the z denotes a higher level of degree, and it does plural it, but the entire expression. LOL versus LOLZ. OMGZ is not Oh My Gods, but rather, OMG OMG. (Even though I personal do say Oh my Gods, as i am polytheistic

And yes, PBAoE (Point Blank, or Player Based, Area of Effect) is a valid acryonym, along with TAOE (targetted Area of effect, where you have to select the location on the field of play, and AoE being Enemy based. I'm not sure if any powers in this game differentiate between TAoE and AoE, but other games, such as City of Heroes, do. Some powers were based on your current target, others you had to select where the effect was to happen).

Hehe, sorry for my late response to this thread. Oh, btw, don't forget the abbreviation ROFLMAO (which stands for 'rolling on the floor laughing my (backside ) off), which is also my personal favorite (hehehe ).
