Alot of hard drive usage... and stuttering

I have this on the demo, as the retail is due soon anyway they both will probably be related... when i play TQ , when the game stutters for me i see alot of hard drive usage , hard drive light FLASH's while the game is stuttering. Do you think it would make much difference installing the game on my secondary drive the sata raptor?

Primary IDE 7200 RPM SATA BARRACUDA ST316002A
Secondary Sata raptor 35GB 10,000rpm

edit : I havent installed my os on the raptor because its just too damn noisy
plus i have alot of family stuff on my primary i wish to keep on my primary

That made NO difference whatsoever, game seems to be constantly busy
off the hard drive hence the possible cause of the stuttering

How about defragmenting the hard disk? Don't use the windows one, get a commercial one like Perfect Disk. It works 100% better.
