Hello,
Does anyone know if any of the typical computer game vendors
(EB Games, GameStop, Best Buy, etc.) are breaking the street date
for Titan Quest?
By that I mean, are they releasing pre-ordered copies today
(Friday, June 23) or do I have to wait until Monday afternoon to
pick up my copy?
I'd sure love to have the entire weekend to play TQ...

Well, EB is supposed to call me the day before I can pick up my copy of TQ, and I haven't heard from them ... so I'd say no.
And, at least for me, EB in my area probably wont have the game until Tuesday, since the 26th is the shipping date. But I live in Maine, everything takes an extra day to get up here :(

Depends when they actually receive the game. In the past I have gotten some games before they were put on the shelf. I think it may be a store by store thing depending if they actually have it. ANyone ever work at an EB that could shed some light?

I've heard the same thing. I'm waiting for my call as well. I'll be picking it up the evening of the 27th... I hope.

Game shipments usually go out on Monday for sale on Tuesday. Whether you get it earlier -- or later -- depends on where your store is, and what the manager decides to do if they get their shipment early ;)
Over the years I've cultivated a very good relationship with a woman who was a clerk and is now the manager of my local EBX. She's a fellow woman gamer so we've always had a certain rapport, and now when I turn up at the store she will drop everything, ignore the other customers, and see what I want :) However unfortunately she has principles, so she won't get me a game from the back if it's not supposed to be on the shelves yet.
I've heard of others, however, who can be slipped a $20 :p

Apparently, you just need the right friends. Take a look at this thread:

I have an unpleasant feeling that that's a pirate copy

It's not being shipped out from THQ till the 26th, (Monday). So it's impossible for a store to have a legal copy already.
Thanks

He's probably confusing it with the pre-order box.
I won't be able to get my copy of the game until the 27th.

The ship date is the 26th, my local EB is supposed to have it on the shelves on the 27th. There is, however, a leaked copy floating around (and a piss poor one I might add). This is most likely why people are thinking that some stores have started selling it early but, in fact, it's just people who have downloaded the pirated version and folks who have gotten a preview copy of the game who are playing it right now.
The rest of us have to wait a few days and lo to EB if they don't have it on the shelves the 27th like they are supposed to! :errf:

Is it possible for TQ to be shipped to game stores in Denver, Colorado and have the game on the shelves on the 26th? Or will they most likely be there on the 27th? I'm asking this since I live out in the middle of nowhere and I am only going to be up in Denver on the 26th and not the 27th and I really really want the game. Also, is the TQ headquarters in California?

Could be worse...I don't have an EB within, I think, about 4000 miles. So, I am going to pay through the nose to hopefully have it on the 30th. I did talk to 3 stores, and they have conspired not to release it until the 30th. BAH! :)

I wouldn't bet too heavily on it being available to the general public on the 26th, at least not at EB. I've only checked out best buy and eb since they are the closest stores to me and both have the shelf date as the 27th.

On store shelves by 3:00pm on Tuesday the 27th at EB Games in Ontario, on good authority.

Yah, I've decided I'm going to make myself wait a day and get it at Future Shop because they are selling it for $39.99 on the 28th.
Thanks

Its all about Walmart you guys. There's one 5 minutes from my apartment open 24 hours. I figure at some point while the store is still open they need to put it on the shelves. I'll be waiting.
