What are these based on? Is it just pure % chance on every hit? Will fast weapons have an advantage on slower ones in this regard,or will dropped loot take this into account somehow? Will a melee character with a +% to attack speed gain even further benifit and proc more often?
Same question for skills. Does the battle rage skill work even better with weapons training and ardor?
I'm just thinking of WoW where if you put an enchantment on a weapon, such as crusader, the proc is based as a "proc per minute" variable. The number of times a weapon strikes or its speed does not end up affecting the proc chance.

Proc is when a weapon has a % chance of unleashing some kind of effect when it hits.
I've never been sure what it stands for; "procedure" I suppose, or "process".

Procedure, from spec_proc in some old mud codebases, still around today since Everquest was based heavily on a popular mud, and a lot of mudders played it - sort of spread from there
Anyway, I can't think of any weapons that have a non-referenced special 'proc' of any sort. If they do something on hit, they say what they do, what the chance is, and what possible effect it can have.

Ok, I get it now. I understand for skills at least, (though not sure about procs), that in the demo the percentages are based on weight. The thing is I don't have a clue what weight is. In the full version though it has been changed to pure percentages so having a higher attack speed should increase the chance that they should go off.
Thanks

Ding, Ding, Ding!
Cheers, P.Marc, it's rare someone actually sites the origins of the word!
