Secure online character storage

I've read that the game will not feature secure online character storage. I was just wondering, does this mean you can play a character in singleplayer and then use it to play online ?

As I learned today...you can play the OC (original content/game) SP and in MP with the same char back and forth...however once you export a char to a MP User Created content/map there is no going back to the regular game (OC), thus to avoid cheating in the original game enviroment.

Hope that helps. It makes me feel a lot better about the MP side of the game :)

Thanks for the eplanation, guys. Frankly, I'm not too bothered with the inevitable cheat fest that will ensue. I simply play with people I know and even if I happen to be in a game with someone who's killing screens of mobs by pushing one button, I just quit the game and add his name to my blacklist.
I think it's great to be able to play the same char in SP and MP. I've always loved to explore the game in my own rythm before moving on to multiplayer, and now I can do that in the knowledge that it's not just wasted effort.

It won't be wasted at all. There are a decent number of folks on the boards here that will be legit MP types to play with. So get ready for fun!
