Im a lvl 33 battlemage and i have no problem with anything besides cyclops at olypmus.
They one or two hit me, i had no problem with them when i was a guardian.
Is it my def thats the main problem? HP?

After dozens of Typhon runs and some good gear, I still deal with these guys in the same way. Get the best bow you can find, stand far back, kite them out one at a time if possible, and shoot them to death. You can easily handle three or four at a time by standing still and shooting or casting until one gets close, then quickly running back and repeating the process. It may take a while at first, but you can safely kill them all while avoiding their nasty melee damage. You can even hit them with arrows and hurt them before they are visible on the screen. If you can, have some Stun resistance going to avoid being stunned and slowed by their ranged attacks. This tactic does not even consider some of the other methods like Ancestral Horn, Colossus Form, and so on, but it's a simple technique that works with any build.

Colossus Form is defense, im war/earth
if i could have colossus form omg i would rock them :P
as far as a bow, dex will be an issue with that, maybe i will try to use an earth ranged skill with like 1 point in it.

Just run past them till they shoot their little sonic wave at you, that's what one hit kills most people. Once they've launched that simply run up in melee range and you should be fine.
I use earth/defender or Warfare/nature depending on which char I am using and they are pretty easy with either one. If you are a caster simply use VO which stuns when it hits and just keep launching them, or you can also use eruption.
for my warfare I usually use plague but you don't have to. As I mentioned above you can simply run past them until they shoot at you then turn around and take them out.

Assassin's Mandrake with Throwing Knife works wonders. But other than that since you aren't an Assassin, do what hostage67 said. Dodge and attack.

It seems to me that there Sonic attack not there only big damage weapon, they seem to have an attack that does big damage 2. Note it may be an idea to drop your Battle Standard, for it damage absorption.

yeah i havent picked up battle standard just yet, that seems like a good idea to start pumping points into.

Yup, i've planned to max it out as well. Triumph makes for an excellent debuff as well. When both are maxxed, you (and your CD, most likely) both get +130 Offense Ability and +1 to all skills (among other things), while the monsters take -40% damage resist, -40% damage and -50% stun resist.
Now imagine yourself dropping that near your tanking CD :P

just dont let their special attack hit you....its devastating....specially is more than 1 cyclop uses it and they all hit you....that weird attack takes out a % of your life (i believe) so no matter how much hp you have...you will be crippled when it hits you....I THINK they take out 50% of your life....so if 2 ciclops hits you with that you are at 25% of your life....1 normal hit and you are done.... just avoid that attack.... drink a potion in the exact moment in which the sonic thingy hits you...
use battle standar, ancestral horn and war horn...and try to engage them 1 by 1....get close to it....slowly, until only 1 of them sees you and comes to you....that way is easier

The cyclops sonic attack is considered 5 different projectiles , each hits for 25% life.
Taking all five removes 76.2% of your life.
Taking 2 full blasts removes 94.4% of your life.
Combined with the slow and skill disruption , the next hit is a kill , even if you are a guardian with 10k hp.
The simplest way to get them is to run away from them.
Get in , get their attention , run out of range and wait.
They will follow you and almost always use that attack BEFORE they get in range (so they miss).
Even if they do it in range , it should be easy to avoid (you can't miss them swinging while not in melee range).
After that is wasted , you can go in for the kill.
If you do enough damage , they won't survive the cooldown of that attack.

Here is the easiest way to beat th eolympus cyclops, garunteed. And I am very surprised no one has stated it yet...
Simply stand at the bottom of the stairs, and let them come to you. If you are at the bottom of the steps, the wave attack CANNOT hit you. You don't have to move or anything. Just make sure you are positioned at the bottom of the stairs, and let them all come to you. Simple.
Now if you are a slower killer, they can make their way down the steps, and then they can hit you with the attack. So simply run back to another set of steps, and wait for them to come at you again. Simple.
Trust me, just stand at the bottom of the stairs, and you will see. Attract them, wait, rinse repeat.

I have a war / earth, I just run past them. No one said you had to kill every monster.
If you really want to kill them you'll probably need more stun resistance, that is what kills me, I can move, then I die.

they wont follow you up to the typhon area?

No they don't follow you. Usually when I do Typhon runs I skip all the monsters. And none of them ever follow me to Typhon.

They can follow you... I once got clipped by running by one, and cause the attack slowed me, I accidentally kited them it all the way into Typhoons area... that was fun, Epic Typhoon AND 3 Cyclopes!
Btw, my advice for killing them with a Warfare build is get a weapon with 50%+ slowing and run at them! :)
When you get in amongst the group hit War Horn to stun them, then Warwind to slow them all... and then finish them at your leisure... works every time for me

I feel Typhon would be more of a challenge if all those brutes were in the ring with him.

ranged weapons is the trick, stay out of their stun fields and you can kill them, just takes time.

Dance around them while making gorilla noises. It scares them off and gives bonus exp for style.
