[Paradox]

i have about 370 strength and about 600 dex on my hunter, what should i be increasing now? it seems increasing dex isnt doing anything at all past about 400?

hm.. thats pretty confusing about dex and str (for me at least).

Str +% to your normal dmg, and Dex +% to piercing dmg right?

and I believe most hunters put heavy point on the skill which +piercing dmg. But for the attribute point, ppl suggest (I've read several guides, faq) to put Dex ONLY enough for equipment and all else go for Str, which boost normal dmg?

why not being specialized all in piercing dmg?

oh forgot to mention that, I'm a pure archer. Is it still true for bow damage that +str will be more effective than +dex?

Also archers rely on not being hit, which high dex suppose to be the way we go... arrrrrrghh someone pls enlighten me :knockout:

Cough +Str = +Damage BEFORE the conversion to pierce takes place.
STR incs both physical AND piercing damage, as long as the weapon got %pierce. And over all you get more damage per point of STR then DEX.

For STR it +10% and +2 damage PER 50 points.
Where as DEX gives +10% and +1.95 pierce damage per 65 points.

EG with a 100 damage weapon with 25% piercing damage. Thats 75 phys and 25 pierce base.
+50 STR will make the damage go to 84 phys AND 28 pierce before +% pierce bonus IE +9 phys & +3 pierce over all
Where as +65 DEX will give 75 phys and 29.45 pierce which is +4.45 pierce damage over all
So STR gives .24 damage, or about 1 damage per 4.2 of str in above case.
And DEX gives +.068..... pierce damage, or +1 damage per 14.6 dex in about case. Though DEX gives more pierce damage 0.55 more pierce damage per 65 Points.

I still feel like Dex should give some bonus to attack speed too...its nice it helps with pierce/OF/DF but bows dont benefit from OF and they are slower then the probably should be anyway....
