My computer specs are as follows :

Amd 3200+ 2.16 ghz
1 gig of DDR ram
Ati radeon 9600

What would you say I'm going to need to make this run alittle better, I dont want to make a major upgrade like a processor or a motherboard, just need a cheap quick fix, I was thinking of picking up a ATI radeon 9800pro, they are cheap and decent. Mabye adding another stick of ram.. but yah any suggestions for the cheapest and easiest fix would be nice. ( I chop hard in the caves of the demo. )

To be honest, the cheapest fix of all is to put all Video options to Low in the demo and wait for the retail version. Most of the graphical issues appear to have been sorted for release.

I recently went from 1gb of RAM to 2gb and it made a world of difference.

I have a 2 GHZ processor and a BFG Geforce 6800 Ultra OC card.

Get a Nvidia 6800GT, only £60 and you'll notice a MASSIVE difference.

And, check your hard drive is a decent up to date one as hard drive speed is very important as you will be playing in a streaming world.

I would also say to go with an NVIDIA 6800GT. That will probably make the most difference. It is good that you don't want to spend big now. When Windows Vista comes out with DirectX 10, you will want to purchase a DirectX 10 video card, as all of the new ones are DirectX 9.

I myself have an Athlon64 3200+ (stock speed) with a Radeon X800XL. Yesterday I upgraded from 1 GB of RAM to 2 GB of RAM and I definitely noticed a more smooth transition when entering caves! Can't wait to see the performance improvements of the retail game. Less than 2 weeks to go...

The demo didn't seem to have the performance optomized. I would wait for the retail release before dropping any money into it. It is pretty common for early demos like this to run a lot more poorly than the final release of the game.

Just my 2 cents:

Even though the final release is supposed to be all that much better performance wise and all, I would still go with at least the RAM upgrade. (Especially if the game chops as hard as you implied.)

Forget about upgrading to a 9800 pro, geforce 6800 and ati x800 series cards are cheap nowadays (I'd recommend nvidia). You should be able to upgrade to 2 GB of RAM and a new graphics card for around $200 and get quite a bit of a performance increase

You can never have too much RAM in my mind.

Actually, 32-Bit Windows can't recognize or utilize more that 2 GB unless yu modify a system file to see more memory, which will then cap it at 3 GB. Windows x64 can see like 64GB or something crazy, but the driver support sucks, so I'm stuck using only half of my RAM atm because my motherboard reserves some RAM for my graphics card memory for some reason and I have 2 512MB graphics cards, so I only get to use about 2.25G B of my 4GB :(

Killa John, have you posted your system specs? If not, I'd love to see them :)
