View Full Version : [Assassin] How does Lethal Strike work with Dual Wield?

I haven't tested Lethal Strike very much, but I'm wonder how will it work with maxed Dual Wield abilities? I would guess that since Dual Wield are weapon pool abilities that they could trigger off an active skill. So is there a chance that Lethal Strike could cause a DW ability to trigger and I would get a Lethal Strike'd Hew (or a Tumult that hits 3 targets for +300%-ish damage)? I also imagine that it randomly picks the weapon to Lethal Strike with similiar to Onslaughting with DW.
Can anybody confirm this or tell me how it will work? Thanks!

I'm not sure if Lethal Strike activates Dual Wield moves, though I don't logically see why it shouldn't.
However DW counts each hit as a seperate hit (as is observed when you get 2 charges for Calculated Strike or Onslaught). So Lethal Strike would only add the bonus to one of the 2 attacks. Hew adds on the bonus after the 2 hits, so I doubt the Hew damage bonus is affected by Lethal Strike either.
Tumult, I'm not sure about that because I ditched my whole DW tree at about the same time I got Lethal Strike since Tumult and Cross-Cut never happened at times I wanted it to. When you're only facing 1 enemy, or the enemies are very scattered, they just seem pointless. (sorry about the off-topicness)

Weapon pool abilities can proc off any attack that you can assign to your left mouse button, like Onslaught or Calculated Strike, but not Lethal Strike. It still rocks though.

Apologies for my error earlier, about forgetting that Lethal Strike can't be put on left-click!
However it still applies that DW considers the 2 hits as seperate (so that's not wrong)

Thanks for the informative (and accurate!) replies.
Even without triggering Dual Wield, Lethal Strike DOES rock. As for DW's effectiveness, I agree it's not as good as it could be (due to the randomness)--I just love watching the animations though. Hah, and it's entertaining to hear the explosion of 3 or so hits at once, then see all the enemies rag-doll launch away from you! :)
(Actually the only skill you need as an Assassin is Flash Powder. I don't see how the class could be possible without it.)
